Coach Calipari to UCLA?

Well, if you're UCLA you can sell that Cronin took lower ranked kids and consistently got them dancing - even if they didn't advance further than the opening weekend - so when he gets in to the west coast, he'll be able to take them to a new level.

If you're everyone else, you're pointing and laughing.
 


This is a legit problem. If Hurley leaves, ASU will have a hard time topping him too. If Miller and Arizona part ways, we'd better pray they bring in a badass. Otherwise this conference is going to be in a serious problem.

Going to be? The Pac-12 conference is already a joke in mens basketball. The rats are simply leaving the ship.

I agree that the PAC-12 has been really down the past two years, but remarkably, the conference actually had the 5th most wins in the tournament and a winning record (unlike the AAC or Big East) this season. Unacceptable, but at least a slight improvement from the putrid tourney performance of 2018.

A remarkable run from Oregon doesn’t mean the conference is going in the right direction.

Favorable bracket draw too. Wisconsin was a decent five seed, but Oregon was a (talent wise) underseeded 12 seed. Their grouping with final KenPom rankings:

16.) Wisconsin
20.) Kansas State
28.) Oregon
73.) UC-Irvine

The search was a joke, but Cronin's a good coach. I expect him to get UCLA to play defense, hit the weight room and start winning again.
