Welcome to the Halloween edition and the last weekend without CU football for this season! (Well, hopefully anyway)
The game of the week is in Happy Valley with Ohio State visiting Penn State although this won't be nearly as intimidating of an
environment with no fans in what would typically be one of PSU's classic white-out games. On to this week's highlighted games!
Boston College at #1 Clemson, noon ABC
The cover story here is that Trevor Lawrence won't be playing after testing positive for the virus on Thursday so true freshman DJ Uiagalelei
will take over. He may be a 5-star recruit but he's still a true freshman who has only played sparingly in mop up duty. Clemson will likely
go with a heavy does of Etienne with DJ also running the ball quite a bit. BC has been the surprise team in the ACC at the roughly halfway
point. Hafley has done a great job in his first year as a head coach and Jurkovic, the highly recruited transfer from Notre Dame has been a
huge part of their success. BC has had 1 bad game, the blowout loss at VT and their other loss was a 4-point loss to UNC where they failed on
a 2-point attempt to tie the game at the end of regulation.
Memphis at #7 Cincinnati, noon ESPN
Cincinnati is stil undefeated and had the big win over previously undefeated SMU last week. Memphis is 3-1 with a win over UCF and
a close loss to SMU. If Cincinnati keeps winning they will at least be on the fringe of the CFP discussion. The big question of course
will be their schedule.
Michigan State at #13 Michigan, noon Fox
Sooo, who is everyone pulling for in this one??
#16 Kansas State at West Virginia, noon ESPN2
KSU is undefeated in Big 12 play. If not for that opening loss to Arkansas State...
#5 Georgia at Kentucky, noon SECN
Kentucky QB Terry Wilson is injured and won't play so Auburn transfer Joey Gatewood gets the start. UK's offense has struggled so far
and it won't get any easier against this Georgia defense. Sounds like Bennett will get the start for UGA but if the offense struggles
it's likely they will make the switch to JT Daniels.
LSU at Auburn, 3:30 CBS
It's odd to see these 2 meeting with neither team being ranked. Brennan is expected to be out for LSU which would mean that the freshman
Finley gets the start. Auburn is very close to being 1-4 if not for a couple of questionable calls that went their way.
#4 Notre Dame at Georgia Tech, 3:30 ABC
ND finally found a passing game in a rout over Pitt last week and they could be looking at another big offensive game against a bad
Georgia Tech defense.
Texas at #6 Oklahoma State, 4pm Fox
OSU is the Big 12's best - wait, make that ONLY - hope for a college football playoff spot. Their defense is for real and as usual Hubbard
will likely be their best offensive weapon. The Texas passing game is potent with Ehlinger but he's also their leading rusher. Who knows
what to expect in this one.
Virginia Tech at Louisville, 4pm ACCN
This one's for @hokiehead . First ever meeting between these schools as ACC members.
#25 Boise State at Air Force, 6pm CBSSN
Finally some college football in the state of Colorado! (well, actually AF already played a home game a month ago)
Mississippi State at #2 Alabama, 7pm ESPN
Waddle is out for the season which is unfortunate not just for Tide fans because he was so fun to watch. I'm guessing their offense will
be fine though. The Bama defense has struggled this season but they've been much better over the past 6 quarters.
Arkansas at #8 Texas A&M, 7:30pm SECN
Isaiah Spiller leads the SEC in yards per carry and Mond has been good enough, except for the Florida game where he was very good.
Arkansas is far from the pushover everyone thought they would be.
#3 Ohio State at #18 Penn State, 7:30pm ABC
If Devyn Ford kneels instead of scoring PSU's final TD then PSU is almost certainly 1-0 but instead ended up losing on a controversial
2-point conversion by Indiana. PSU trailed Indiana for most of the game despite outgaining the Hoosiers more than 2-to-1. OSU lived up
to their preseason billing in crushing Nebraskka and Fields looked great. It'd be nice to see PSU make this a game but it's hard to see that
happening.
Missouri at #10 Florida, 7:30pm SECN
Florida hasn't played the last 2 weeks due to a number of positive tests on their team and are coming off a loss to A&M. Florida still has
everything in front of them and the winner of next week's Cocktail Party will almost certainly play Alabama in Atlanta for the SEC title.
Missouri is coming off a couple of nice wins over LSU and Kentucky.
#15 North Carolina at Virginia, 8pm ACCN
UNC has games against ND and Miami later in the year so if they win out they will be in the ACC Championship game. UVA has lost 4 straight.
#24 Oklahoma at Texas Tech, 8pm Fox
This seems to have the makings of a shootout. OU can still get to the Big 12 title game with some help.
