Small Guards don't get drafted early
I mentioned in Perkins thread that my cousin plays at BHS, who played both East and Regis this year. I got a chance to talk to him about his thoughts on the two, he spent at least a little time guarding both in those games too (you don't guard those guys with just one guy).
He thought Collier was the better all around player, tougher to guard, better at creating his own shot and finding the open teammate. The open teammate thing could have been a factor of East having more overall talent though. He also thought Collier was more invested on the defensive end.
He thought Perkins was the better pure shooter, especially on the catch and shoot. Their scouting on Perkins was to make him put it on the floor, and make him go left. Against Collier they would rather have him shoot the jumper.
Both guys scored in the mid 20s in the game against BHS, they're both very good players. BHS almost upset Regis, got crushed by East early in the season, but East has more overall talent.
