OULDER — Colorado Golf Day, the main fundraising event for the University of Colorado men's golf team, is set for Monday, August 26 and will once again be held at Boulder Country Club. Participants will have the opportunity to play the course that has previously hosted the men's and women's Pac-12 Conference championships as well as several of the state's top amateur tournaments throughout its history. The format is a four-person "shamble" with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start, and entry fees include lunch, beverages, a heavy appetizer awards reception and prizes (a shamble is where everyone tees off, but then everyone plays in from the location of the best drive). Individual entry fees are $400, with a team of four costing $1,500; players can compete as individuals or for their businesses, but also can compete with three others on behalf of their designated golf club (members, pros, staff members, etc.) and the winning team will receive a rotating trophy to be on display at their club. The three-time defending champion in the latter is Boulder Country Club. There are also sponsorship opportunities available (hole, presenting and title at various donations), along with many great auction items to bid on as well. All net proceeds from the event go to the Men's Golf Team Excellence Fund to help defray assorted expenses over the course of the season. For more information on the event and to consider becoming a sponsor, please contact head coach Roy Edwards at roy.edwards@colorado.edu.
