I think the only way Langsdorf gets the job, is if 5-10 folks have turned it down and it's late January.

"Splash hire" has me dreaming of doing something insane like stealing Kendal Briles and his $1M salary away from Arkansas.
RG told a group of big donors, 3 weeks ago, that if the donors pony up, there would be big splash hires at OC and OL.
And we know that's not happening
No thank you on any Briles connection, but the man can coach an offense

One of the donors from 247 who allegedly has AD sources has said RG is looking to make “splash” hires at OC and OL coach. This was said at least a few weeks ago.

Weren’t there similar rumors with the head coach job? And then with Sarkasian didn’t want the job, RG gave up and let Karl Dorrell write his own contract.
Shawn Watson is kind of in a similar category in terms of realistic, experienced, program connections

I never suggested him as an option but he’s in the same Mark Helfrich category of “meh” but realistic

Actually don’t think Helfrich as an OC would be bad at all, and checks a number of boxes. However, I have read that Frost and the Nubs may be targeting him.
He has some idea of what he is doing
Using that family name in connection with CU should get you a good months ban.
I admire your optimism.

When has CU FB ever moved quickly on a hire? I think it would be great if they landed a candidate right after the CCG's, so recruiting might get a bump, but I am not holding my breath. I would say the chances of a drawn out unsuccessful search, eventually ending on a Langsdorf promotion, are about 45%.
There is also no real reason to withhold an announcement of "Danny Langsford has been promoted to OC", so the longer this takes, the more unlikely it is that's the direction.
