CU Buffs hire former Minnesota OC Mike Sanford as their new OC

Shawn Watson is kind of in a similar category in terms of realistic, experienced, program connections

I hold out faint hope a quality OC will be landed. I still remember, the people making the decisions are the ones who brought us HCKD in the first place...

Anyone get a sense on how fast a new OC gets hired?
I'd think dang soon since signing date is 12/15/ and there may be a few players who are waiting to see if the transfer portal is their future or not.

When has CU FB ever moved quickly on a hire? I think it would be great if they landed a candidate right after the CCG's, so recruiting might get a bump, but I am not holding my breath. I would say the chances of a drawn out unsuccessful search, eventually ending on a Langsdorf promotion, are about 45%.

Dorrell moved quickly to fire. I’ve got to think he and others were considering possibilities well in advance. I’m hopefull, the position will be filled relatively quickly, within 10 days.
There is also no real reason to withhold an announcement of "Danny Langsford has been promoted to OC", so the longer this takes, the more unlikely it is that's the direction.
