CU grad creates new QB training device

Interesting article about a new wearable QB training device created by a CU grad. The device tracks which direction a QB is looking and gives them real-time feedback. It’s being promoted by Joel Klatt and endorsed by Coach McCartney. Prototype will be tested on our campus next month.
 
What was the name of the helmet cam thing that Cody and Tyler were wearing during spring practice years ago?

I just read about it, and it was pretty interesting.

It's not being developed as a "tracker," as there are multiple tracking devices for QB stuff. This is being developed to be a "trainer", which would provide instant feedback to the QB. It will actually be a pretty simple self-contained device as opposed to the trackers that are awesome, but require the link to video analysis.

If they keep the price reasonable, it could be a good idea, but the way it's being developed, it's not going to be super accurate (only 4 differentiated "directions") like some of the trackers are, so I see it way more as a get some work in type tool, rather than any kind of diagnostic type tool.

So, is it more like a shock collar?

Lock onto your receiver pre-snap - small shock
Stay locked onto your receiver post-snap - medium shock
Throw to same receiver you've been locked onto - large shock

I'm afraid Montez is going to get electrocuted . . .

If it has wireless fence technology, you might be able to keep him in the pocket and even move him up to avoid pressure.
 
Well done Allbuffs. Gave me quite the laugh at work reading through this. Especially the shock collar references.
