TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Colorado women golfers posted their second best team score of the tournament here Tuesday in the final round of the Arizona Wildcat Invitational, moving up three positions to finish in 10th place.
The Buffaloes entered the final round in 13th, but after collectively shooting 7-over par in their final 18 holes, the team was able to climb the leaderboard and earn its eighth top 10 finish of the year. Colorado closed out the event with a 294-306-295—895 or 31-over par total.
Host Arizona was the only squad to post a subpar team score on the final day as the Wildcats won their own tournament with a 7-under par 857. Arizona State came in second with an 868 and UNLV finished third, recording an 876 or 12-over par performance. Miami placed fourth after posting an 883, while Baylor and Purdue tied for fifth place, both finishing with 884 team scores.
“We played a little bit better today, but still left a lot of shots out there,” said Colorado head coach Anne Kelly. “It wasn’t our best putting week overall. We need to improve on our par 5s and need to putt a little better. It’s not at all the finish we wanted, but I think we take away a lot from it and get ready for next week’s event.”

The Buffaloes will spend part of their spring break in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. next week to play in San Diego State’s March Mayhem, March 21-23—a four-round match-play event. The trip concludes a stretch of three straight weeks of tournaments for the Buffs.
