Darrin Chiaverini Assistant Head Coach

Good for him, I think he’s earned it. He works very hard to right the CU program.

"Darrin has done a really good job recruiting; he's relentless," Tucker said. "He has a really good feel for the University of Colorado and its history. And he's really stepped up and has been really helpful in our effort to create the football culture that we want to have here."

"It's a huge honor for me," Chiaverini said. "I have a ton of respect for Coach Tuck and what he's done for me, giving me the opportunity to stay at Colorado – it shows that he really believes in me. I'm looking forward to helping him build the Colorado program back to among the elite in college football."

Suppose Mel Tucker does very well at CU and ends up moving on, would Chev just simply be elevated to head coach?

How could anyone know that?

I lost track how many times that could have happened in the NCAA football video game series. Simulating thoughts right?

I think you'd have to do that no matter what with all the interest in both of them coaching somewhere else soon.

Based on his ability to recruit players like Shenault Jr and experience as a coordinator, he's able to seek a HC job sooner than later.

I doubt he makes it through the season.
