Doesn't Boulder have some Noise ordinance that would prohibit night concerts? I think I remember reading something like that.

I think Chataqua concerts have to end fairly early. Can't remember the time, but maybe as early as 10pm.

Boulder City ordinances don’t apply to CU, but I would imagine CU tries to comply when it’s convenient.
It used to be 10;30PM DMB broke it, got fined and there were no concerts at Folsom until Dead & Co who complied the first 2 nights but not the third, per the interwebs.
I was curious because I was at both shows.

State/University ownership mostly trumps local ordinance. CU and the City of Boulder have had a tepid relationship for many decades. The City always believes they wield more power than they should, and are sometimes sue happy, but generally they lose against CU.
I bit off topic but illustrating. I have a son graduating Boulder High in May. 2 years ago we had the problem with homeless tents becoming engulfed in flames (meth cooks just of BH grounds) closing Boulder High's athletic fields--not safe to cross the bridge. I walked from the library down the creek path just to check it out. Through the City encampments were everywhere, Boulder creek was awash with trash--mattresses etc... You cross into CU where the family housing used to be, it was pristine and well kept. BVSD finally moved those homeless encampments over City objections. From the start, CU was not taking any sh*t from the City on this issue, so no issue.
