Game thread- Men's bball opens the season facing South Dakota in Manhattan, KS (Wed., 11/25, 6:00 PM MT, ESPN+)

Wright picking up where he left off last year. 10 points so far and about to shoot a FT after gettting fouled and scoring the basket. Buffs up 28-20

Lots to like so far. Wright looks like he’s on a mission. So many players have looked good so far. Walton, Walker, Bartholemy, Parquet have all had their moments, others too. Depth looks good even without Schwartz.

Box Score highlights.

2 team turnovers in the first half, +5 in rebounds on the strength of 10 offensive boards
Kin with 16 points on 9 shots, 3 FTs
Dallas 7 boards, 6 points
Team 9-10 FTs

Lowlights
New guys (Horne, Walker, da Silva, Barthelemy) combined 2-17 from the field
Team 16-41, 37% on FGs

I suppose I should be happy with the big lead, but that shooting is brutal.

Half of those misses should have been called fouls - especially with Horne - one possession he had 3 shots and was fouled on all 3 with no call. Showed good composure by looking at the ref and just shaking his head.

Reactions: wip
Shooting seemed to settle down during the second part of 1st half - chalking it up to first game, but there was a lot of brick laying early
