Well, it's what Buffalo Brad said. I'm not one that bitches about officiating often, CU definitely had some gripes in that one. They should hold those ****ers accountable for their bull****, it'll never happen though. All that said, we got the win, all that matters.

Thing is, I'm cool with officials calling a game physical and letting touch bull**** go. Only one problem, both teams should be afforded that opportunity, not just one. We breathe on them or just touch fouls, it got called. Against them, that wasn't the case at a home game to boot.

The old Big East would be shocked and dismayed at the soft PAC12 reffing. The Buffs came out so aggressive and so dialed in that the pansy refs could not adjust. AZ was soft and floppy and instead of matching the intensity, the refs called everything and brought the game back to AZ so they could stay in it. Hanging tough and winning this game was huge. Especially without Jabari and with extended bench minutes! My biggest anger came from the BS reactions and attitudes on the AZ bench. Such arrogance, such entitlement! Wear your masks, show respect, know your place.
Oh man, so proud of this team!
Kin is the greatest Buffs Basketball player of all time!

I think Tad’s gotta get his players to adjust. I know the calls were bull****, but the guys’ attitudes shift big time and let the officiating derail their mojo. If I’m assessing the body language correctly, the guys need to channel their pisssedness into smarter aggressiveness. Easy to say, I know, but man it seems our scoring takes a big **** when the officiating gets really questionable. Stay aggressive and draw the fouls with fake **** too then.
Oh, and I still can’t stand Sean Miller.

I get what you're saying, but it's hard to adjust when it gets called one way.

It’s a fundamental flaw in the game itself. At all levels of basketball, from pee-wee to the NBA, officiating dictates the outcome of the game. If a team is a physical team and the refs call everything tight, that team is at an immediate disadvantage. No other game requires the teams to adjust to the officiating the way basketball does.

Channel their inner Pitino/Louisville and start playing football in a basketball game? :ROFLMAO:
If all guys are fouling during every possession, the refs can't call them all and will have to adjust to you to make it possible to have a basketball game.

The officiating in the AZ game illustrates one of the main reasons I declined to renew our season tickets a couple of years ago. The referees destroyed the entire flow of the AZ game, beginning midway through the first half. The players from both teams deserved better. This happens far too often in college basketball, and in the Pac 12 in particular.

With that said, Evan Battey and McKinley Wright are two absolute warriors. We are fortunate as fans to get to see those two take the floor for the Buffs and play with such heart and determination every single game.

agree 100%. there's so much subjectivity in foul calls, notably regarding offensive vs defensive -- it's the thing about basketball that I dislike the most.

"his feet weren't set" -- wtf does that precisely mean? trying to define an instantaneous state for living, moving objects -- why in the fûcking hell is it not defined in terms of a duration?!?!?!?!

I have a love/hate relationship with the restricted area arc -- love that it removes a lot of subjectivity from those calls, absolutely hate the notion that offensive players can get away with any contact in that area.

The Restricted arc is supposed to be a restricted area for a "secondary" defender. If you are the primary defender inside the arc, you can still draw an offensive foul... in theory. Almost all block/charge calls involve a secondary defender, but in my opinion, you solve a lot of these problems by increasing the size of the arc. It's original design was to protect an air born player, as we all know from watching any basketball, an offensive player in today's game can go air-born from far outside the arc with ease. I'm not quite on the "ban charges" bandwagon, but increasing the size of the arc by a lot would make this issue less problematic.

I don't see cubuffs having a preview out for today's game, but there are a couple Pat Rooney written previews available on Buffzone..
