Georgia Tech at Miami

They beat an overrated and poorly coached FSU and they beat GA Tech at home.. Count me as one that's not that impressed.

If they beat VT and OU or even go 1-1 against them, I'll be more impressed.

While the Buffs on the other hand cant even muster up anything like a sustained threat against the likes of CSU and Toledo.

Sorry, but a win is a win is a win. And right now The U has not done anything to prove they are a bad team undeserving of a top 25 ranking. God knows less deserving teams (rhymes with rubbish) have been ranked of late.

Is it wrong that I found myself rooting for Miami, only because the safer Randy Shannon's job is the less competition CU will have for top head coaching candidates?

Their old stadium, Fitzgerald Field House, was falling apart and their basketball team had no place to play while regularly being the better program at the school of the two. Fitzgerald seated 6000 while the new Petersen center seats 12,500 for games and 14,000 for concerts. Which do you think benefits Pitt more? It cost $120 million to build. What do you think rebuilding Pitt Stadium would have cost?

I beleive that the Peterson center is on the football field site.

Pitt had a budget constraint and that was their best option.

I loved Pitt stadium.... but it was becoming so diapidated....

To expand on that point CU would be very hard pressed if they had to replace Folsom.

I understand the logic, particularly for an urban campus that sounds like it was already cramped for space, but it's too bad to see old stadiums that can't be preserved and end up going by the wayside. One thing I'll add is that it did look like a terrible place to watch a football game because of the track around the field. But many of the college stadiums around the country are pretty old and they are able to keep all those going.
