Hawk: speculation on my job security purely media-driven

Oregon State did finish at #4 in the 2000 AP poll.

I'm not arguing with the ranking, it's just that Oregon St is, at best, the 5th or 6th best team in their conference now, so it seems like a long time ago that they were #1 in the country.

They (and unfortiunately we) are a world away from where we were in 2001.

With Mac he replaced Fairbanks who went 7-26 (3-8, 1-10, 3-8) in 3 seasons and left Bill an empty cupboard. I just wonder how bad it really was at the end of Barnetts tenure. Hawkins, through 3 seasons, was 13-24 by way of comparison.

So CU had 3 losing seasons in 21 years before Hawkins and since Hawkins we have had 3 in 3 years with a high probability of a 4th. Yep. Looks like a media-driven conspiracy to me.
