How many wins is necessary before we out recruit USC? (from Recruit thread)

What we have to get to is out-recruiting UA, ASU & UU while being even with UCLA in the Rivals rankings. From there, you've got plenty of talent and can compete with anyone.

CU is in a unique position in that players are generally away from home and the team becomes more close-knit. They're not all going home to hang out with friends from the neighborhood on weekends. That's a huge advantage for a team. Add in that at a place like USC so many guys are auditioning for the NFL as their first priority and it takes a special coach to harness that instead of fielding an all-star team. Some coaches can cut it there and some can't. It looks like Lane can't.

And those three schools are the ones I was talking about, and as long as we aren't as bad as we were last season, there's no reason for that to not happen. Since 2002, only OSU (2003, 2008), WSU (2005, 2009, 2010), Stanford (2006), Colorado (2006, 2011, 2013) have not had a 4*. That's company we should never be in. Even UW in 2008 (they went 0-12) had five 4*'s.
