I will never rip Cody again

Also...why was he allowed to walk around after the game?..he's out there shaking hands and smiling and talking to players, holdling his helmet.

You would think that someone would have been concerned about him and would have been tending to him if he was hurt. No one was.

I don't want him to be hurt, but I don't know I will believe he is either...it might be another one of his dad's "stories" to take the heat off.

Otherwise, he should have been escorted by a trainer into the locker room and not be ignored and left to wander the field post-game.

After the play, he was on the ground for sometime getting attended. When he was helped up, there were a couple moments where he looked dazed and even stumbled. It was on tv. This is not a made-up moment by any stretch.

No...I agree. I missed it because I changed channels. When I got back, they were talking about a player getting hurt during "garbage time" but by then didn't say who it was. So, since they really only talked about Cody and McKnight the whole game, I looked for Cody at the end of the game and he seemed fine...he was on the field, shaking hands, laughing with a teammate but I did notice his face was smeared with black stuff and he was smiling like he didn't have a care in the world.

After learning about the hit, I don't understand why he was not taken into the locker room immediately after the game instead of letting him wander around. So that makes me wonder about the seriousness of his condition. No one seemed to be concerned last night.

It reminded me of a moment when my hockey-playing son (a goalie) took too many pucks off the helmet in one game. He stayed on his feet and kept moving his arms, but he was "off." All the parents on our side said, OMG, he's out on his feet. The odd thing was he stayed on "auto pilot" and looked like a goalie except his motions got automatic instead of precise.

That's what I thought about Cody when he stood up. His eyes were not focused, and his balance was off for a few steps. How and why it appeared differently to trainers on the field than a fan watching on ESPN, I can only speculate. I could see "the big picture" (the eyes glazed, stumbling) whereas trainers on the field were getting little clues, he was answering questions, he was walking, he said he felt fine... but that could have been Cody's version of "auto pilot."

In fact, Cody's smile during the "good game, fellas" handshake was a sign that he wasn't himself, it also looked automatic, not real.

They've seen the tape now, including the part of him walking off disoriented. You can bet he's being carefully evaluated.

The commentators even said he looks punch drunk stumbling around when he got up. I doubt he suffered anything less than a concussion.

Yeah...Actually, I've never really seen Cody smile much before...it was strange.

There is no doubt that Cody tries hard and has heart, but I still feel he lacks the physical skill to get us where we want to be. I wish him a speedy recovery, but I want to see the next guy.

auto-pilot loopiness when your head tries to remember what you are supposed to do in a given situation from memory.

Yeah, I was concerned when I saw him smiling at the end--it didn't look right.

I didn't mind that he was in the game, as most of you do. The coach was getting as many reps with an inexperienced offense as possible. Plus, I think he was trying to install a little fight and fire in them.

you can't blame the staff for keeping him in-- they are 0-2 and fighting for their jobs.

i feel bad for the guy. that was a vicious hit he took. i hope he's ok. he's been a good Buff-- he's worked hard and done the best he can.

i think, in retrospect, that everyone may have been better off if he'd have gone to boise state rather than CU. between the charges of nepotism and the pressure of being the hc's kid and all the rest, he's had a rough time.

we've clearly had a hard time getting a bluechip qb to come here with the coach's kid here. that's hurt the program, for sure.

i hope he recovers quickly.

you can hate the dad all you want-- he's paid to take the abuse--- but, i wish nothing but the best for all of the players. if they aren't put into a position to succeed, it isn't their fault.

Cody is not a victim. Going to CU allowed him on the field. He would have never played at Boise St. No way in hell he plays over Tharp or Moore.

So Cody got 4 years of starting out of the deal. Got to go to a sweet university. And got to enjoy all the tail that accompanies being the starting QB on a BCS team.

I'd trade places with Cody any day.

Cody's celibate. :smile2:
