get out and do some recruiting.. Not surprised we lost but man at the skill positions and the OL are just frickin awful.. They just can't compete with teams with talent.. We played hard so I have to give them that..
yes we need players, we play so hard but are so ****ing outmanned. It seems every team I watch has more talent than us. What the **** happened, we are a ****ing disgrace.
we are a ****ing disgrace.
thats a little much. We are not a disgrace. We are a rebuilding program.
Barnett and his jackass coaches and their awful recruiting is what happened..
you need to drop that. that chapter is over and closed. yea, we may still have a few of the players left but.....let it go. :smile2:
Just answering the question why other teams have more talent than us..
The facts never lie.. :smile2:
things will get better-- it will just take more time. the year isn't lost.

that's 4 of probably our top 8 guys in terms of athleticism. CU was outgunned and even if those guys had played, we'd have been outgunned. but, even being a big underdog against a clearly superior set of athletes, CU could have won this game had they executed.

If Smith is 3, he played on special teams tonight..
#3 is Jimmy Smith who plays corner. The Smith he is talking about is #9 Josh Smith, our stud freshman wide receiver who was out with a bruised kidney.

So we are officially redshirting Miller????
I hope so...
So we are officially redshirting Miller????
Just as long as the first string O-line stays healthy. Those hosses play about every down.
Should a knee blow out, Hawkens would pull Miller's redshirt. No point wasting his eligibility too soon.
depends on who were to go down and when...
ideally, all 5 frosh who are in the 2 deep on the ol will redshirt.
what a frustrating game tonight...

Between the Lisa Simpson thing hitting the papers this week, and the dropsies by the WR corps, I'm having some bad 2006 flashbacks. Coming out strong in the 1st Qtr and then wilting in the heat for the remaining 45 minutes of play was PAINFUL. Watching an impotent offense is frustrating at best. More like suicide watch if it weren't for having some weapons on the sideline (J-Fly - please may that liver heal up.) That was the LONGEST game, with all of the penalties and incompletes, the clock moved slower than Lammie's bowels after 2 pounds of cheddar.
If it weren't for all of the cheapshot penalties by Erickson's skilled but undisciplined thugs, CU would have been KO'd much earlier. Well, there goes C-Hawk's 60 game winning streak as a starter. Someone had to pop that cherry.
The image that is stuck in my head is of Jordan Dizon staggering off the field at the end of the 1st half. His veins were just screaming for his half-time IV. That pretty much was the point CU's will was broken. When riverboat gambler D-Hawk chose to take a knee with 13 seconds left in the half, instead of one more shot at the end-zone, the tide was irreversably turned.
Maybe it was the 100 degree heat, but there was nothing in the second half to get excited about. Except, perhaps, the catch by Riar Geer. That flagrant penalty against our return guy was inexcusable. 15 yards is so inadequate. Ejection from the game shouldn't have been out of the question. That hit, and other cheap shots was just rubbing salt in the wound. ASU did nothing to endear themselves this evening.
It was the right call to put Nelson under center with 11 minutes left in the 4Q. The Brian White-like rally I was hoping for didn't come to pass. With Nelson failing to give a spark that the offense so deperately needed, that nepotism thing about the coach's son won't be an issue.
To end on a good note, Scotty McKnight wins the heart of the Buffalo award. Thanks for catching the ball when it hit your hands.

Sure, the Buffs were out-talented. Everybody knew that. We've known that for the past four or five years now. The Buffs need a talent upgrade across the board.
At the same time, I saw at least two touchdowns by the Buffs that went right through the receivers hands. Granted, ASU had plenty of mistakes too.
I was impressed with the Buffs mental focus. ASU is a team full of cheap shot thugs, just like their coach. It would have been very difficult for me to be a player out there. After our punt returners were repeatedly cheap-shotted by ASU's special teams - I would have made it a point to do the old "sweep the leg" on their QB. But the Buffs kept their poise and kept battling.

We have to give him time to recruit at those positions. I think we should give him an extension. call me crazy.
