What position would you want?
QB: I like our guys and they have a lot of heart, but with this being Cody's JR year it'd be nice to bring in a guy and teach him the game so he can take over and lead for 2-4 years.
TE: We have talent here, but if we could get a TE that is essentially a downfield blocker with great speed and height with good hands (ala Graham) it'd be a great compliment to our attack. We will have 2 experience TEs after this year, Deehan will be a Jr and DeVaughn will be a So.
DT: Nuckols will hopefully be a member of the team in January, but we don't have much depth at DT right now. Kaynor will be the only scholly DT leaving (Sale is a Sr too, but I don't think he's a scholarship player). We will have Bonsu, Cunningham, Pericack and (hopefully) Nuckols. Not bad, but competition at this spot would be incredible.
DE: We have Kasa, but he has 0 PT right now. Herrod, Obi and Forrest (Frosh) are the others I recognize off the roster; that's not to say the others aren't solid players though.
As far as I'm concerned, I'd love to have a 5* player on the DL. We have guys there, but I want a DT like Dorsey (wishful thinking on anyone's part). The CBs lose a lot of really good talent, but I think Brown has a good hold of things. The LBs should be a strong unit for the foreseeable future. I don't think QB is as much of an issue as people make it out to be at the cfb level (although a Detmer type on the team would be awesome). We should be stacked at RB. The OL has some depth, even though we lost a couple of guys. We get a double team on the DL and our LBs eat up opposing RBs for lunch.
As a whole, however, I think the DL has underperformed since Hawkins got here. Wright was an exception and TRG and his counterpart Nicolas were solid contributors, but weren't game changers. I want this one to fall squarely on the Bandison's shoulders and not second guess ourselves with the talent we do have. Having a DT or DE that is as naturally gifted as Kasa is and is familiar with the position would be a great thing to have.
