Jack Kroll, candidate for Regent (Now an AB Lucky Vidmar endorsement)

sackman

we need to do whatever it takes to defeat this guy. He's running around claiming he'll stop the athletic department from spending its own money. Dude clearly has no idea where that money comes from. Dangerous candidate who holds opinions that, if implemented by the Regents as a whole, would absolutely cripple the athletic department.

his bio says "Jack is an avid fan of all Colorado sports teams, but is exceptionally passionate about the Colorado Rockies and CU Buff basketball. He also enjoys reading, yoga and backpacking." you sure?

Who is running against him?

Also, can you point to his AD comments?

Finally, it seems like he might be running to make public policies at CU based upon how it impacts him personally:

This is his fiance:

Her name sounds familiar; would I know her from something else?

She works in admission re-tweets some CU eccentric stuff that we tweet on the AB's account

"
As Regent, I will:

Build up our students, not our stadiums. The recent football stadium renovation and expansion has cost nearly $160-million, which is more than what the university spent on financial aid across all four campuses last year."

This is an incredibly disingenuous platform to take by a candidate for regent.

It's disappointing that the 30% or more of alumni living outside Colorado don't get to vote for CU Regent, while any number of idiots can.

Anyone wanting to mess with CU (like CSU fans) or voters that are ignorant about the private nature of donations that fund Athletic capital projects might be turned on by this huckster.

His brother Nick is kinda funny in The League but I'm not sure I can watch that show anymore now.

I would love to ask him if he knows where the money for the stadium expansion came from, and if so, is he planning on refusing donor dollars directed to the athletic department in the future.

Honestly, we need to make sure this guy gets nowhere close to being elected. He's so uninformed it would be disastrous having him on the board of Regents.

Yep. Although it wouldn't surprise me if his opponent is equally misinformed.

That (D) by his name could net him all kinds of votes, too, from the straight party line voters.

He probably has to run in a primary first. Make sure he doesn't get out of the primaries.

This is going to make me look stupid, but only one way to learn...and my quick google search did not immediately find answers.

So regents are elected for 6 year terms, and based on this kid running, there doesn't appear to be a minimum age requirement. However, are they paid a salary, or are they elected to pure public service positions (i.e. volunteer their time and efforts, but probably some compensation for related activities, such as driving to events, etc)?

I had written a rant...but deleted - think we're all on board that this kid needs more seasoning before even thinking about running for regent. I know we've had young ones before...but there needs to be a minimum age requirement. Kids are stupid...

I am running against Jack Kroll for CU Regent from the First Congressional District. In fact, just yesterday, I beat Jack for most votes at the CD Assembly, but he got enough votes to force a mail ballot primary in late June. Here is my response to Jack's constant and misleading talking point about CU athletics:

Thank You, Lucky.

What is the address of your campaign office?
