BOULDER—Ryal Jagd has been named the assistant volleyball coach for the University of Colorado volleyball program, head coach Liz Kritza announced Sunday. Jagd has spent the previous two seasons as a volunteer assistant coach and the last few months as the interim assistant coach for the Buffaloes.
“Announcing the hiring of Ryal Jagd is another step in the right direction for the Buffs volleyball program,” Kritza said. “Every coach wants bright, enthusiastic, loyal people who will work tirelessly for the team’s common goals, and that is what we have found in Ryal. He has been committed to this program and our ascent in the Pac-12 for the past two seasons as our volunteer coach. Continuity and tradition are important for this program, especially as we continue through another growth phase.”
Jagd will have primary recruiting responsibilities and continue to work with the team’s outside hitters, liberos and defensive players. He will work with associate head coach J.T. Wenger in match preparation and scouting and implementing training sessions for the team.
