RG started by giving a shout-out to Chev. Emphasizing character and maturity with HCKD.

Wanted someone who, like he does, believes that Colorado can win championships with the resources we have.

Karl & Kim Dorrell built a home here 1 1/2 years ago and their daughter Lauren was on our VB team last year. Both she and her brother Chandler were born here.

Translation: this is home for the Dorrell family.

Started by talking about how they had decided this is where they wanted to live in retirement. That this was his dream job if it ever became an opportunity. Got broken up and had to take a moment to gather his emotions.

Straight into talking about the CU family and how much guys like McCartney made him who he is.

Considering the context, it shows he isn't feeding some MT bull**** about a dream job. If he manages to be a great coach for CU, it's highly unlikely that he will be leaving so that's at least a positive.

Defensive players were the cornerstone of our success at Colorado and he recognized that even as an offensive coach.

One thing I can tell already: I respect this man's character and will want him to succeed more than I would feel that way for the average guy in this job. I want to win first and foremost, but if we can win with a man like this it would be so much better.

Dude seems like a really nice, caring guy..... but i'm fairly concerned that he is going to make the tough decisions on the recruiting trail or when managing the roster

Dorrell doesn't have the... charisma that Mel Tucker has/had. That being said, he will be very very easy to root for. If he can win football games, this guy is going to be very popular in Boulder/Denver.
