The Buffs try to complete a weekend sweep against the Arizona schools, with 1st serve scheduled for 7:00 PM Saturday at Coors.
(For those with the time, nice chance to see back to back Buff action with women’s basketball hosting Loyola Marymount earlier in the day (2:00).)
Re #19 Arizona, they could be one of the teams the Buffs are fighting for an NCAA tournament berth, so completing a 2 match sweep of them this year (the Buffs defeated them in 4 sets in the desert a few weeks ago) couldn’t hurt and, if the Buffs win enough other matches, may be huge. (Currently, the Wild Cats have a better RPI than the Buffs (46 going into the weekend vs. 68 for the Buffs), and it looks like the Buffs will probably be unable to catch up there unless the Wild Cats season totally "goes south". Like the Buffs, the Wild Cats won a tough 5 setter last night, and the teams are tied with 7-8 Pac 12 records. I would say just eyeballing their results that AZ doesn’t have any quality wins close to the Buffs wins over Stanford and FSU, (AZ’s best win of the year so far probably is Oregon (who the Buffs have also beaten)), so I'd guess the Buffs have the edge in high quality victories.)
