VOLLEYBALL (14-11 overall; 6-8 in the Pac 12) continues it's road days with a trip to the desert schools.with matches a day earlier than normal. 1st off is a Thursday evening tilt with the #17 ASU Sun Devils (22-4, 10-4), and then heads a little down the road to face the Arizona Wild Cats (6-19, 1-13) Saturday afternoon.
ASU has had a roller coaster ride the last few weeks. 3 weekends ago, it lost on the road to OSU, who was then winless in Pac 12 play, but then went down the road and swept then #5 Oregon. Next up it hosted the Bay Area schools and had maybe the win of the season as it swept then undefeated in conference and #3 ranked Stanford. Then, last week it started by sweeping UCLA in Westwood, but then got swept by USC (who be fair has been very tough, especially at home).
In this week's official RPI report (https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/volleyball-women/d1/ncaa-womens-volleyball-rpi),,the Buffs are at #51, while ASU is #16 and Arizona #137.
Also, as I mentioned in other recent threads, in the Volleytalk forum I read that a rating/ ranking I hadn't heard of, KPI (available via query at https://faktorsports.com/), is now listed as a primary criteria this season for the NCAA tournament volleyball selection committee. Right now the Buffs are #50 in KPI, while the Sun Devils are #10 and Wildcats #158.
Both matches look like they will be available via free live streams provided by the home teams. (More info and links provided near the end of this post.)
Go Buffs!!!

Colorado enters the week after splitting matches against Oregon State and then-No. 7 Oregon on the road. They took down the Beavers in five sets for the second time this season Friday night, while the Ducks came away with a four-set win Sunday afternoon.
Friday night's match was spearheaded by the trio of Skyy Howard, Maya Tabron, and Ana Burilović combining for 42 of Colorado's 55 kills. The three all had double-doubles: Howard with 12 blocks, Tabron with 12 digs, and Burilović with a career-high 16 digs.
CU had a 18 total blocks as a team, including six different Buffs' recording at least one block.
Sunday didn't fare as well for Colorado, as they dropped in four sets to the Ducks. Tabron was the only CU player with double-digit kills, with 11.
Colorado currently sits at seventh in the Pac-12 standings, just behind both schools in Los Angeles. The Buffaloes have four games remaining on the road and two more at home in the CU Events Center.
OPPONENT OVERVIEW
Arizona State
The Sun Devils are ranked No. 17 in the country at the moment and are third in the Pac-12 standings. They're coming off a weekend in Los Angeles where they swept UCLA, but then USC returned the favor with a sweep over ASU Sunday afternoon.
Colorado took care of business earlier in the season at home against the Sun Devils, with a dominant 3-0 sweep. CU currently leads in the all-time series 12-11, winning seven of the last ten matches.
Arizona
The Wildcats are on a nine-match losing streak, getting swept in each of the last four matches. They have just one conference win, against UCLA back in October.
CU swept Arizona at home just a few weeks back, and will look to do so once again in Tucson this time around. The Buffs have won the last two matches between the two but still trail in the all-time series 11-13.
