She won Southland Coach of the Year at McNeese State in 2014, her 2nd year as the HC, and then was hired by Kansas State. After 2 losing seasons (she'd inherited a losing program), her squad made the NCAA tournament this season.

Prior to McNeese, she was an Assistant at Wichita State where they won the Missouri Valley regular season and tournament her last 2 seasons and made the NCAA tourney both years.

Before that, she'd been a student assistant at Arizona where she'd played in college.

Here's some stuff about her days as a college player and some quotes about her (taken from the article announcing her being hired at McNeese State):

Steinberg was a standout tennis player at the University of Arizona where she was the teams' No. 1 player and team captain throughout her career. She was a three-time Pac-10 All-Conference pick and was the Pac-10 Toyota Spring Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2009. Steinberg was also named to the 2006 Academic All-American team and is a three time Pac-10 All-Academic selection. Steinberg also won the ITA Arthur Ashe Award for Sportsmanship and Leadership in 2009.

What others are saying about Danielle Steinberg:

"Danielle Steinberg is a great addition to the McNeese Athletics Department. She is a driven young woman and will put the program on the map in no time. She has excellent tennis knowledge but, beyond that, understands that college athletics is about delivering the whole package, about caring for student-athletes on the court as well as off it, and about developing young women into confident, well- rounded individuals."
Vicky Maes, Head Women's Tennis Coach, Arizona

"Danielle is an outstanding coach, competitor, and person. McNeese State will be in more than capable hands under the leadership of Coach Steinberg."
Lisa Hart, Head Women's Tennis Coach, Washington State

"In her time as Wichita State, Danielle has helped lead this team to consecutive conference championships. She immersed herself in every aspect of the program and was constantly striving for ways to elevate our program, which she did. I can't thank her enough for the contributions she has made. McNeese State has selected a coach who will make Cowgirl fans and tennis fans in the Lake Charles community proud to call theirs. I am excited to watch her continue to grow as a coach and know she will do great things."
Colin Foster, Head Women's Tennis Coach, Wichita State

I love this hire! Looks like we netted a good one. She should serve us well.
