Official ****braska Hate Thread

Looks like they want sCUm to be 1-0 when they lose next weekend. 2 different holding penalties on that 3rd down pass that weren’t called, Montez still couldn’t convert!
scUM is reserved for Miami, everyone knows that. CU isn’t in the same universe of scumbag as Miami. When was the last time CU fans attacked someone’s band? Miami pulled off that amazing feat just last weekend.

Adrian, Spielman, WanDale, Mills, Washington are going to absolutely rip this defense apart. It’s going to be savage. You guys are trying to be a power team. That o-line is not transformed enough from last year to do that against what should be a fairly stout d-line and run defense of the Huskers.

Stop making Nebraska sound like Bama. We don’t play much of an upgrade in week 2

No kidding, the way Sconnie rolled USF last night, no way nubs win the B1G West. They’ll need to hang 100 on the mighty Jags of Mobile Community Coll...er...South Alabama, and the defense scores 77 of those points and shut them out to change my mind...maybe

I was flying back to Omaha from the east coast yesterday. While waiting in the airport, a I saw a Fusker fan who wearing a red shirt that said “Go back to Boulder you dirty hippy.” I found it amusing given all of the talk about the crimehusker horde taking over Boulder.

Why I hate the Nubs, and will always remain proudly anti-nub:
  1. Their cult of tradition. They believe that they are special "just because" they are Nebraska, and that the big red is special in and of itself.

  2. The rejection of modernism. Delusionally, they refuse to acknowledge that the world of college football has continued to function quite perfectly without their relevance, and many have blamed the team moving away from the triple option, or hiring a coach without any prior Nebraska ties, as the sole reason for their decline.

  3. The cult of action for action’s sake. Solich and Pelini were both competent coaches in many respects, and saw some degree of success in Lincoln, but like frustrated, petulant children, the corn fired them. They'll never have the critical capacity to imagine rebuilding their program step by step, instead opting for the impossibility of instant and complete success, and few of them realize that they actually can (and will) sink much lower.

  4. Disagreement is treason. After last season's game, in which I pointed out many poor coaching decisions on the part of Scott Frost to my otherwise reasonable nub friend, he told me that "anyone who questions Coach Frost isn't a real Husker fan." These rotund yokels from bovine america are obsessed with licking the boots of the savior, and exclude anyone who refuses to lend their tongues to the shining.

  5. Fear of difference. I've never seen Husker fans more terrified for the future than when the West Coast offense showed up in Lincoln, about ten years behind the rest of the college football landscape. And Bill Callahan's greatest sin? Being outside the nub family, prior to his hiring. Same with Mike Riley.

  6. Appeal to social frustration. They are proud they used to be called the Bugeaters. Need I say more? Okay, I will. they also sing songs to themselves to convince themselves that they actually like living in Nebraska. No one ACTUALLY likes living in Nebraska.

  7. The obsession with a plot. Remember when they were obsessed with the idea that Texas and the Big 12 south were out to get them? Or the conspiracy fueled by Scott Frost after their "qb's leg almost got ripped off" last year? Any fusker trouble is ALWAYS the result of something outside of ****braska itself; self-criticism is completely alien to these folks.

  8. The enemy is both strong and weak. By a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, nub opponents are at the same time too strong and too weak. Countless times, nub fans have claimed CU and NU "do not share a real rivalry," that NU's real rival is Oklahoma, but then later say, in hushed voices that "Our games with CU are scary every year."

  9. Pascifism is trafficking with the enemy. Despite their supposed "greatest fans in college football" they'd rather put up a "Sal is dead" banner with a Dr. Seuss rhyme than ever show any actual respect for an opponent- even if the opponent is struggling with very real grief.

  10. Contempt for the weak. Every year, Nebraska seems to pad their schedules with blowout games against teams like Northwest South Central Louisiana School for the Blind. Their fans still pack the stadium and act as if they just toppled Alabama.

  11. All trust is put in the hero. Husker fans, like childish simpletons, believe Scott Frost is the chosen one. Their support of him is linked to a suicidal cult of death, in the diminishing returns of an ever-receding past that never really existed as they imagine it.

Their hygiene also improves when you hit them with a really good piss balloon.
