Official Colorado vs. Wazzu Game Thread 11/17/23

@The Alabaster Yak

Well mostly. The running game looks solid on 1st down but whenever we need a run, our OL creates no lanes.

DL getting dominated.
LBs look as bad as they did against TCU
DBs definitely having their worst game. Stanford was awful for the CBs and CSU was awful for the safeties but this game been awful for both.

The Oregon game was complete domination. This game, just don't look like we belong.

Hard to say much about the QBs, they are getting killed.

This is the worst game for the OL and we played UCLA.
We belong.

We are just SOFT

We belong.

We are just SOFT
Intensity and pride isn't there. Seems like that under the weather but is floating around and taking their cajones away, along with some players just not having them. How far in a season do you have to go before you realize every team wants to skull drag you every game before you wake up?

The only reason I'm not calling it a night is the pot of coffee I drank before the game. This is painful.

It doesn't matter who's the OC, we need to fix the OL and the DL.
We sure do. But the lack of OL talent has been a known quantity for two months. A quality offensive coaching squad would coach around it. As intimated above, mix in some runs, screens, etc. The reason that Shadeur is getting pounded is the constant three-step drop out of the shotgun, with edge rushers standing straight up and curling around the offensive tackles. Run the ball straight at it. Do a reverse. Drop a quick screen off to an RB. Quick drag route. Run it again. Mix up the plays! That sets up the long ball, which #2 and the receiver set are good at.

We know a complete redo on OL and OL coaching is needed.

What else?

there can’t be any position/group that’s safe. WR and CB have talent, but damn. There’s a lot of work to do still.
