Official CU RPI Watch 2016-17

OP updated for Sunday AM, 12/18.

CU is up to #94 RPI. SOS starting to round into better shape and is pulling CU up. Need to keep seeing wins from our opponents to keep raising this boat.

Today's games we care about:

Eastern Washington at Northern Kentucky (big one, with EWU doing well & at a 7-3 opponent)
Portland at Oregon State (technically we play OSU twice & it should be more important, but they're hopeless and we want that road win at Portland in the OOC to look as good as possible)
Western Michigan at Washington (need wins from the bottom half of the Pac-12)

Boy, good thing we didn't play Auburn again this year. Terrible RPI in the making.

Monday, 12/19, games we care about:

COLORADO at Air Force, 7pm, CBSSN
Colgate at #21 Notre Dame, 5pm
Wofford at Coastal Carolina, 5pm
Stanford at SMU, 7pm, ESPN2
Loyola Marymount at CSU, 7pm
Southern Utah at Seattle, 8pm
Cornell at #24 USC, 8:30pm, PACN

CSU lost at home to a very mediocre Loyola Marymount. That loss is going to sting us all season.

Stanford got absolutely destroyed by SMU.

Seattle and USC close out the night by getting wins.

Tuesday, 12/20 games we care about:

Louisiana-Monroe at a horrible Coppin State team (1-12), 12pm
Eastern Washington at Xavier, 4:30pm, FS1 (neutral for us, but better if Xavier maintains its Top 5 RPI as a monster win for CU)
New Mexico at #18 Arizona, 7pm, PACN
#9 Creighton at Arizona State, 7pm, ESPN2
Idaho State at BYU, 7pm
Portland State at Portland, 8pm
Fresno State at #20 Oregon, 9pm, PACN
Cal Poly at Washington, 9pm

LA Monroe tips off the day by notching a road win. That actually bumped us up to #72. (y)

Xavier up 46-30 at half.
Refs on east of Mississippi don't seem to call as tightly as in the west.
Xavier got turnovers where fouls would normally be called.

Definitely more physical, especially if we're talking about Big East refs. CU has drawn some crews this year that don't seem to understand that basketball is a contact sport.

Xavier absolutely rolled E Washington, but I still came away impressed with EWU. They are dangerous this week and should make a lot of noise in the Big Sky this year.

Arizona and BYU with wins. ASU with the loss.

Portland down 9 at halftime. Really need them to come back.

Portland loses by 2. Looks like they played poorly until midway thru the 2nd half.

Wednesday, 12/21, games we care about:

UAB at Texas, 6pm, LHN
Sacramento State at Washington State, 7pm, PACN (Sac State would bump our OOC schedule)
#12 Virginia at Cal, 8pm, ESPN2
Kent State at Oregon State, 9pm, ESPNU
Western Michigan at #2 UCLA, 9pm, PACN

Texas, WSU, OSU, and UCLA all win. Cal loses to #12 Virginia at home.

CU's RPI at 71.

Thursday, 12/22, games we care about:

Eastern Washington at COLORADO, 6:30PM, PACN
Central Arkansas at Arizona State, 1pm, PACN
UC Davis at Air Force, 2pm
Louisiana Monroe at VCU, 5pm
Wofford at Georgia Tech, 5:30pm
CSU Bakersfield at BYU, 7pm
Washington at Seattle, 8pm (doesn't matter, really)
CSU at Long Beach State, 8pm
Idaho at Stanford, 8:30pm, PACN
Portland at Cal State Fullerton, 8:30
San Francisco at Utah, 9pm, ESPNU
Missouri State at #23 USC, 9pm, FS1

AFA got the win. Good one for the resume. UC Davis came in as a decent 6-6 squad.
