Official CU vs. UCLA 10/28/23 Game Thread

Our struggles are definitely more due to lack of talent than coaching. Obviously Hunter and Shadeur are dawgs but outside of them we have a bunch of talented but raw freshman and a lot of mediocrity.

If Shadeur had the protection UCLA has he'd probably put up 50 TD
Talent is certainly an issue but coaching alone lost us Stanford. Win that and they’re 5-3

We are not better coached than people think - this team is not getting better as the year goes on and there's very little changes from what isn't working
I think they got better. UCLA is graded as the 16th best team in the nation. If their QB play wasn't so bad, they would be right there with Washington and Oregon.

Every time he’s interviewed on social media and every game lately he looks and acts like he doesn’t want to be here. I’d put even odds on him transferring out and finishing somewhere else.
I’ve thought he’s a likely transfer candidate for a while now. Prime doesn’t want him at Safety and he’s not a LB (Woods himself knows this).

There's no quantative basis to say this team is getting better. Offensive strategy is the definition of insanity.

This would be a 40+ point loss is Hunter didn't make two incredible plays and got lucky on the fumble recoveries.

If Prime is going to do a lot of analyzing as the HC and let his Coordinators do their jobs with complete freedom, then we are not gonna get better, because neither coordinator has made any adjustments. Prime has the mic up on his headset, and he is doing a million analysis of all the players and coaches so he can make adjustments after games. That seems like a tough ask without the absolutely best coordinators.

Also, why is very passing play dropping SS2 directly backwards? Can we not roll him out?

Jimmy Horn has also sucked tonight.

You got a horrendous OL who's generally protected by 2 who couldn't as they were going against the nation's best pass rush was always going to be a disaster.
