Official Phillip Lindsay Really is the first undrafted rookie in the ProBowl Thread

He’s definitely in and we all already knew this but totally solidified now. He produced 49 yards of offense on 6 touches, 1 for 1 on receptions. Freeman had 31 on 5 and booker (you suck) had 9 yards on 3 touches. Lindsay is going to be a fantasy freak this year. He’ll be the cheapest guy and the Broncos are going to ride him throwing and running the ball.

Just a reminder that when Phillip makes the 53, his salary will be $480,000 this year and he is on a 3 year deal.

2018: $480k
2019: $570k
2020: $660k

That’s chump change for the NFL but that’s still a whole lot of money for 1 year. Good for him!

So how does something like this work? Does he renegotiate now or does he have to perform for a season first?

That’s his contract for 3 seasons, just like any other draft pick. It’s the ****ty part about being an UDFA but at least he got to choose where he went.
So I hear about players renegotiating pretty regularly. Is there a policy difference with udfa’s or is it just a matter of udfa’s not having the standing to pull it off?

Its more just that teams are cheap. The NFL is won and dominated on good drafting and rookie contracts. Most teams won’t renegotiate them but it doesn’t meant Lindsay can’t ask.

Players and teams can renegotiate whenever they want, but teams aren’t usually inclined to do so, and they hold all the power, especially over the low round or UDFA types. Typically a renegotiation occurs when a player is going into the last year of a contract or maybe the second to last year of one thatbge has significantly outperformed.

Phil should have been drafted and he probably deserves to make more money for what he’s going to bring to this team, but he won’t get a different contract until he proves his worth over the next 2-3 seasons.

Viv doesn’t resist.

You're creepy.
