And if we had settled for the FG people would be saying you can't settle for 3 instead of 7 when you're a big underdog. Easy to look back and say that now
I had no problem with going for it.

Problem with the play call.

But also recognized that the play was and would be consequencial.

We were going for "close in the 4th" - that was the goal that was set.

Which meant not going up by 11 wasn't a big deal then - we were still "succeeding" according to the standard set by the coach.

Except it was a big deal. Gotta step on their throat when you have a chance.

And we didn't.
