LANGLEY, BRITISH COLUMBIA—University of Colorado women’s golfer Jamie Oleksiew yielded a few strokes back to the field on her 72nd hole, but she had built a big enough lead to hang on for the 2013 British Columbia Junior Girls Championship.
Oleksiew built an eight stroke lead after 54 holes on the strength of her best career round in competitive play and course record with a 5-under par 66 on the par 71 Belmont Golf Course. She took the lead after the second round when she shot a 2-under par 69 and was 2-under par 140. She finished the event at 4-under par 280 (71-69-66-74). Despite a triple bogey on her final hole, she won by two strokes.
