Other Games 09/04 - 09/06

Blowhio State might run the table, but I thought that last year too.
Considering they already beat the team on their schedule that has the most comparable talent to go with comparable winning culture/ championship expectations... Ohio State shouldn't lose. Odds are they drop one before the playoffs, though.

I don't think it'll be Michigan, but you never know in a rivalry of that sort.

Nailed it. They shouldn't lose one but I love chaos. I'll roll the dice and say they drop the road game at UW in a few weeks...

Heard some radio talk about CSU-UNC. The problem, as they correctly stated, is that no one cares about UNC getting screwed in a game against CSU. Even here on this board, it’s like, meh, stupid CSU got lucky.

But if this had happened in the OSU - UT game, we would still be talking about it. It’s too bad for UNC, but it is important in the sense that it was an absolute failure of replay review, and it makes you wonder if there should even be replay review at all below a certain level, if they can’t get enough camera angles or whatnot.

I'll just say what I always say when it comes to replay - if there's any doubt whatsoever then stick with the original call on the field. Sometimes they act like replay is making a call on the play, but the onus is on replay is to show proof of the opposite of what was called. This isn't that hard.

On that note, I don't think anything annoys me more as a viewer than a long delay which results in the play standing as called. It should be obvious and quick if there isn't enough evidence. We don't need 9 angles with freeze frames and digital enhancement to see if someone's knee caught a blade of grass while the ball was 6 inches short of the spot.

What annoys me are the super long replays where a) a team gets stopped at the goal line or just short of a first down, on 2nd down, they review it ad nauseum, the call is upheld, the defense is pumped, then the O just walks into the end zone or easily gets a first down on the next play. Or vice versa - ruled a touchdown, overturned, walk in on the next play.

I've seen a few crews that are pretty quick with review, but not very many. That's college and pro.

watching the georgia tech vs gardner-webb replay. To lazy to look, but why is the backup QB playing? did the Buffs hurt King?

King was battered by the end of the game, go rewatch how he came off the field following the winning TD in week 1.

I think he would have went out to play in week 2, if they had a real opponent.

He had a leg injury and didn't play at all in week 2. He could barely move at the end of the CU game. I'd be surprised if he makes it through half the season if they continue to use him the way they did against CU.
