Seaton in the portal

We don't know what's happening with Seaton but it certainly looks like a clown show.

Brings up yet another issue with the changing face of college football. How many of these guys are relying on advice from people who don't have a clue what they are doing?

Players are going to be told that going into the portal they can make a bunch of money. They go in, don't get the offers they expected, and meanwhile the school they were at has already filled their spot and doesn't really want them back.

Other players are going to hear what they take as offers that don't end up followed through on, or they have an offer from a school, until somebody else shows up in the portal and the school pulls the offer.

These are a bunch of guys who are only a couple years out of high school. They are counting on friends and uncles but those people haven't ever negotiated deals and contracts. With the players coming and going every year the schools aren't going to sense any reason to be loyal or protect the player.

Seaton will end up with a deal that includes a lot of money. Schools will figure out how to pay a guy who is an NFL talent but a lot of players who are good but not that good are going to be left out to dry.

I said suppose they only made 4%. You and NotSure are the ones making up that people are saying or thinking billionaires have their money sitting in checking or money market accounts or short term CDs/bonds. I didn’t say that, nor did anyone else.

Most mock drafts I’ve seen having him going in the first round but not Top 10
Next year is a great year for QB drafting, so unless Seaton dramatically improve his run blocking, it't more likely than not that he won't be drafted in top 10.

F'k Seaton, F'k his uncle, and no, I wouldn't f'kn take him back.

For a couple million dollars he gave up immortality at CU with his name on the stadium and the love of the fanbase. Now, he'll just be another kid that played at whatever school he chooses regardless of where he gets drafted. Assuming he has a lucrative career, 15 years from now I bet he would gladly trade whatever extra he made from the transfer to be enshrined forever in a college stadium.
