TexAgs report...Cocach Fran gone at the end of the year...

I'm sure Bill Belichek and Bill Cowher are updating their resumes as we speak. And hell, as long as we're talking about Bills, why not go for Bill Parcells. In fact, have Parcells as the HC, Belicheck as the OC and Cowher as the DC. Yeah, that just might do it.

There are only a couple small flaws with that plan. Everybody knows Bellichick is going to be the new HC at ****braska, and Cowher is going to succeed Shanny with the Broncos. :smile2:

But Parcells as HC, Shanny as offensive coordinator and Bo Pellini as DC? That should get it done...

All joking aside, I'm wondering if Shanny is starting to regret not taking the Florida job a while back. He seems worn out.

Well, don't laugh now. Gems from this link:

1. Tuberville w/ Muschamp
2. Spurrier
3. Tuberville/Gruden/Cower/Muschamp

I get the feeling this person is going to be very disappointed a couple months from now.

Hell, there's even a few talking about bringing in Tuberville as head coach and bringing in Major Applewhite in as OC. Not only are they going to get Tuberville to leave Auburn, but they're going to convince Applewhite to leave Bama after one year for a step down. I love how delusional the aggy fan base really is.

i think that's true. the lore is that after the sanctions surfaced, Fran held an emotional, rousing team meeting about how they were all in it together and Roll Tide and whatnot....and then took the ATM job a month later or something.

Bama Charlie could probably tell us more.

Actually sanctions were announced in February. His emotional meeting asking the players who could leave and NOT have to sit out a year was themed "Hold the Rope". He left for TAMU later that same year after the season in November.

As discussed in other threads, why would Tuberville leave Auburn for a vastly inferiror position at A&M? Auburn can compete in an arms race, too.

IMHO CTT would only leave if he wants to. He and Lowder [the all powerful alum] still do not like each other [the whole Petrino/Louisville plane flight]. The rumormill over here says AU will not redo his contract.

There is no "heat" on Tuberville. He has the full backing of the AD (the AD that was part of the Petrino debacle is not there any longer). Tuberville has the job as long as he wants it.

CTT and Bobby Lowder do not get along. The AD is a AU tiger that played for Dye. He is Lowders boy.

Fran is not nearly the coach Tuberville is. Tuberville has built Auburn into a consistent SEC power while Fran lived off of two decent years at Bama and some good years at smaller schools.

One difference between the two is CDF had never seen the bigtime before he came to UA. CTT had already coached at UM, TAMU, and was HC at Ole Miss. According to the current Bama history revisionists CDF left because he was overwhelmed with the job, doesnt take criticism well [and Bama fans were good at it], and thought the Bama Nation would turn on him if the team did poorly during the probation years. He actually had a writer/pr guy that would post on Bama football websites. Rumors were he would read websites and have the guy call webmasters and remove certain threads.

CTT has become a solid A level coach. He reminds me a lot of Jackie Sherrill.

Rightfully so. Lowder is a huge prick. I still don't think Tuberville leaves though. I really like where he has the program now and I doubt Auburn is going to find anyone better.

BTW, some family friends down in the Foley area say Julio Jones is amazing. Looks like Bama is going to get one badass WR.

CTT should be able to write his own contract.

JJ is the next 'straight to the NFL' talent. It depends a bit on work ethic even for the freaks.
