Today's Luncheon with Hawk

I was hoping someone would say that. He wouldn't listen to me. Good job DBT!

What I always find mildly annoying is some of the parents of the players who sit in our section. I've been going to these games for over 30 years. My folks have owned the same seats for over 20 years. We've seen really good football and really bad football and we know the difference. But when we dare to question the peformance on the field, we "don't know what the hell we're talking about".

Oh please, just because your son plays for the Buffs doesn't make you a better, more knowledgable fan than I am. I'll still be here, in these seats, screaming my bloody head off, 10 years after your son is long gone. Will YOU be here, too? Yeah, I didn't think so.

I agree, but I think if you were in the parents shoe's, you would do the same thing. I don't have kids, but I'm guessing the parents on here wouldn't like people talking trash about something very personal to their child either. Just my two cents.

Yep right after the wife, kids and putting food on the table ****er

Matt,

I know you won't ban Leash for calling you a "dickhead", but you've gotta ban 14 for jacked up priorities, right? I don't think I'm taking crazy pills here--this seems like a no-brainer to me.

I think a lot of the parents take stuff too personally. When I say "God DAMNIT!!! Tackle that sonofabitch!!!" Or when I say "SH!T, you just gave up a 3rd and 15 for the third time IN THIS GAME!!!" I'm not taking a personal shot at somebody's child. But a lot of times, I get "Hey, they're trying out there". Listen, I don't pay $80/seat (after the seat tax) to see them try hard. I go to CU games to see them beat the living crap out of their opponent. I go to Boulder High games to see the kids "try hard".

I like Hawk, but honestly, these coaches and AD's kill me sometimes. Coaches in the big time (read that BCS conferences) get paid movie star money. But they get pissy if anybody demands results. Face it, coaches are hired to win. Add to that the prices of tickets and you are going to get a lot of demanding folk. You can't have it both ways. If you want disinterested voyeurs, go coach in the little leagues. If you charge pro level ticket prices, command top dollar for your coaching services, expect a fair segment of your customers/fans to actually demand a commensurate performance, and expect them to let you know when the paying customer doesn't think you are measuring up. I have sympathy for the players since they aren't getting in on the gravy. But then again, they also need to realize D1 CFB is big time sports and it isn't always going to be a bed of roses....

I couldn't disagree more

Just let those parents know that you and everyone sitting around you is paying for their kid to go to school because he plays football.

Tell those parents to Phuck Off. You have the same right they do to say what you will. Further, you are just as if not more qualified then they are to express you feelings.

I was given some Club seats by the Buff Club for last weeks game. I made it one and half quarters until a few people threw some stuff at me and then told me that they dont "boo" up there. I promptly left and went to sit with a friend. What a joke. If Philly can boo Santa Clause, we can boo whatever we feel.

hahahahaha they throw stuff, but don't "boo". In their defense though, I'd throw stuff at you too.

I just know that my wife always got really pissed at me when I yelled at our kids for phucking up in sports.
