Travis Hunter Appreciation Thread (Awards: HE12MAN, Walter Camp, Biletnikoff, Bednarik, Lott, Paul Hornung, AP PotY)

So what is he going to name his son? After yesterday's debacle, I'm sure it won't be "Ralphie"

Travis’ wife’s boyfriend must be thrilled. If they name him Dontrell Jr, he can be called DJ and everyone will hear “TJ”.

Based on what I heard from some NFL coaches talking about it in the offseason going back to pre-draft, offense was likely to be the focus his rookie year. Being able to get the team touchdowns is just more valuable than playing in the secondary.
I mean, you don't really need to understand the intricacies of the defense if your defensive job is to be the nickel cb in man coverage.

That's what my point was. Though nickel is now base defense, so it's more like dime & prevent situations.

Higher likelihood of starting WR + defensive packages than the other way around or for immediately starting on both sides.

Happy for the guy. He’s gotten everything he’s wanted out of life so far and some people can only manage to hate on him.
What impresses me with him is that he is outstanding at seemingly everything he does. One of a kind athlete but was also an outstanding student, team leader on and off the field, and by everything I have ever seen just an outstanding and grounded human being.

Something had happened to prevent his football career he would probably be working on a doctoral program right now and headed to being highly successful in some other field. Kind of a modern day Whizzer White.

Not gonna lie - I dislike a lot of people who have it all. Not so much athletes though and especially not Travis. If people think things have been handed to him, they haven’t been paying attention. Yeah, he won the genetic lottery, but he’s put it to good use. A lot different from a lot of people in our society who were born on third base and think they hit a triple.

The people you describe are worse. People hate on Travis (mostly) because of his choice of partner.

It’s weird - there’s a lot of hate towards Patrick and Brittany Mahomes (although she is kinda intense). It’s almost like people have a problem with star athletes marrying their high school sweethearts.

I dislike the Mahomes' because they are trash.

Well, she is actually a horrible person.
So is Jackson his brother. Maybe not horrible but a dumbass. Their are Chiefs fans that despise Brittany and wish Jackson would just go away. #1 rule for a pro athlete WAG is don't act like you had anything to do with their success. Shut up, live your own life, and don't draw any unnecessary media coverage.
