There are some pretty good attorneys in Chicago and Fitzgerald isn't a dumb guy. I'm guessing he leaves with a bundle.

Universities and their attorneys are typically risk averse. NU didn’t fire Fitzgerald until the press got wind of what had happened, not before even though they knew what was going on.

Fitzgerald will almost certainly walk with a bundle as the end result will almost certainly be a settlement. NU won’t risk losing a $180mm judgment.
