Wow, Big hit vs Little Hawk..

Say what you want about Cody, but dude is SELLING OUT FOR HIS TEAM! That was a gutty play in a game that is clearly way out of hand.

Hey I'll give him props for selling out. He's earned my respect. I do not believe he's the answer at quarterback but he's a warrior.

Why do you see so many cheap shot hits from mid-major schools. When I watch MWC games they always have somebody piling in late, hitting with a helmet, etc.

Not saying that it doesn't happen in the BCS conferences but it seems like the mid-majors are more chippy and questionable.

That kid deserves better than this situation. He deserves better talent around him. He deserves better wide receivers. He deserves a better offensive line.

And he especially deserves a dad who wouldn't put him in that situation. Putting the whole damn burden on him like that. "Hey son, bring us back with short, slow wide receivers and an offensive line that's as thin as paper mache."

Goddamn kid.

Say what ever you want about him as a QB but we all better remember his effort, his heart and his dedication. Hope the guys we get after him have half of what he does.

Leaving the starter in late to show that the team hasn't given up and still has some fight in them, regardless of their talent level. I think they proved their point tonight, but there was the cost of doing business that way. McKnight and Mohler already concussed this season and now we've got Cody in the mix. Bad times.

I wonder what Hansen is thinking right now.

Man he's a football player. I really wish he was 3 inches taller and 30 pounds heavier. He'd be a hell of a QB. I hope he's ok.

I have respect for cody for giving it up and the hit was cheap but that's on hawk, he shouldn't have been in there. Cody should not be starting but his heart can't be questioned.

What now pumpkin head? Is lobota still suspended? Is hansen still going to redshirt? Dan, do the right thing and resign, you've made cu a bigger joke than barnett did.

I woulda pulled Cody - it was clear he was going to be hurt - his O line was tired - he may not be back next week and if so - one more hit like that (or a lesser hit) and that could be his season. My heart goes out to Cody.

AMEN! my respect for Cody just skyrocketed!:wow: Hope he is ok!

Yup. He's 5' 9" 170lbs... all of it heart. I think he needs to be the backup for the rest of the year but he won my loyalty tonight. He's a Buff through and through. If we could transplant his heart and guts into Clark Evans we'd really really have something.

Lobato was there, suited up. It's Slota who's out. If Cody's got the concussion and can't go, it's been said on the depth chart that Hansen will likely start.

Nothing was keeping him out of the end zone on that play. So much respect for Cody. Great Buff

2 games too late... although it won't make a difference when we give up 50 points to Toledo

 The Buffs are the laughing stalk of football, and Hawk is the root of it.

The concern now is also if Cody is in the same situation and takes another shot, what are the long term effects for him... Just don't want to see a good guy go out like that...
