'12 CA FB Christian Powell (Signed to Colorado)

Not positive but pretty sure Cordary is a TE now. Maybe an H-Back type but im not certain. I hope we get this guy, he is a true fb by the looks of it.

This. The only FB on our roster is the walk-on -- Nick Plimpton.

:stupid: How do you have a power running game without having a power FB? Powell is a long-time fullback with wicked physical attributes. I bet he starts game 1 2012.

Cordary Allen is a TE. I heard it directly from him when he spoke at the final football luncheon.

Thanks for the clarification - Allen's listed as FB on the Rivals pipeline. All the more reason we need to get Powell in here with Norgard.

Ridiculous. This dude is a tank. I cannot believe he's only a sr in high school. Looks like he has the body to be a fb in the nfl in that pic. You want a ticket to the league, come here and get 4 years experience in a pro system!

I didn't bother popping in his name but if you search Abron's film on HUDL.com, they have game by game cut-ups of Upland and almost every play has Powell running through the hole, beating the hell out of people. Being in the Christmas mood, I had some christmas music on in the background watching the highlights. Fitting I started paying attention to #46 when Manheim Steamroller came on. Dude is a bowling ball of butcher knives as they like to say. He's thick and quick, excellent at playing beneath his pad and making LB's nonexistent in plays. He's got quite a few flat-back blocks too. VERY impressive fullback. I'm hoping that he loves playing with Abron and wants to play FB in college because he looks like a guy who could start from day 1.

They already know each other's habits/style. I hate the word, but synergy is what it is.

Powell who says he's "getting close to a decision" that could take place over the next few weeks, defined his list of favorite schools right now. Nebraska is in a top three along with Colorado and Washington.

Coming off the official visit to Boulder, the Buffaloes appear to have an edge.

"I just went out there and it was a great place," Powell said about CU. "it seemed like a place I could go to…"

Nebraska currently sits in the No. 2 spot, Powell explained.

Thats huge.

Yah baby. I am convinced he would start all 4 years and probably be an All-American for the Buffs by the end. He is a freaking beast. And we are one of a shrinking amount of teams in the Pac 12 and beyond that play a pro-style offense where a bulldozer fullback who gets 10-15 carries a year and catches a few passes once in a blue moon is critical to the offense. With some upgrades to our offensive line, healthy young RB competition in the Fall, and I believe seriously improved QB play, we may just start seeing that power running game Embree and EB so desire. Put Powell in there and bingo! He must see that we are a great fit offensively for him. And we would make a great stepping stone to a potential NFL career for him. I know there is a long way between highly rated HS fullback and the NFL but I think CU is a great path to get there.

This is fantastic news. Still waiting on in homes from EB and JE with kNU having already had Pelini do the in home. Wonder what is up with UW? When is Sarkisian visiting.

Sark already visited, I think.

I want this kid bad. But what bout Clay? we gonna move him back to defense? or Bring in 2 FBs. Might as well right? since Evan is gone and tyler is back on D.

I understand coaches wanted 2 FBs. But I think if we got a true pure FB like Powell we might be inclined to leave Clay on D. That is a problem we'd love to have!

Gotta have depth at a position. Nothing wrong taking two scholly FB's in one class when there isn't another one on the roster.

I totally agree. But I feel like Clay is too talented to leave on a 2 deep depth chart. Maybe we could keep him as backup FB and starting D. If Powell went down, Clay would switch to FB. Thoughts?

No doubt he could get time at both positions... but that is a lot to ask a true frosh.

Probably a little early to have a 2 deep depth chart for our 2016 Buffs.

Destroying linebackers is tough work. There's enough for two. C'mon Powell! Plus, the guy's name actually has the word "Pow!" already in it. Does no one else see this? Pow!
