CSU not ****ing around for once...McElwain expected to be announced as thier coach

I like the helmets with the sectioned horns.

You'd think they hired Bear Bryant himself, I get so sick of the local idots gushing over this.

I don't care what kind of decals they have. You can't make sheepdip smell like caviar.

fify

They can dump all the money they can scrounge up into the program, hire new coaches, get new uniforms, do marketing campaigns. They are still CSU.

CSU's on campus stadium project gave me the idea to check out one of the Mega Texas high schools for comparison.

Allen High school is currently building a $58.5M stadium with an eventual capacity of 18,000. I just took a tour of the campus and construction site. Their indoor practice facility is made of brick. Near by are three more football fields.

The athletic facilities on that highschool campus boggles the mind.

Unlike CSU they will get 18,000 paying fans show up.

Stadium looks like it will be much nicer than Hughes but do they have paved parking and new trees outside?

I think it's sad that Texas communities spend so much on their football programs when I look at their academic ranks. Maybe buy the kids some new textbooks and mix in a better music program? Improve student/teacher ratio? I know. Crazy talk. Much more important to be able to show off your high school football championship ring at the local bar when you're 40.

You are right. Its just a different world there. Nobody cared what our grades were as long as we were on the field. I dont see it changing either, seems to get more serious as time goes by.

I was kind of thinking about that as I saw the pictures. Being in education I know how many kids are out there that we are not connecting with effectively. $58.5 million will buy you a lot of science labs, computer labs, reading interventionist to work with elementary kids who are behind in reading, etc.

Looked at a couple of web sites that publish open records data and Allen HS has 5 more students per teacher than the Texas state average. I have to wonder about their priorities but the stadium was voted on by the public and had a 60% favorable vote. Makes me wonder about priorities.

Ohio loves their football too, thats a nice field.

All the championship games are played at massillon and fawcett stadium(massillon's rival canton Mckinley).

It's pretty crazy but the catholic schools have dominated, st.xavier, colerain, ignatius.

maybe we should sell them Balch field house and just build a new field house there.
