'12 TX WR Peyton Williams (Signed to Colorado)

One of the Dallas Morning News High school reporters says its a torn ACL.....:bang:
Dadgummit! Prayers to Peyton for a speedy and full recovery! I'd be willing to bet that he'll be practicing with the guys next fall and ready to go in '13 after a RS.

Sucks if true about the torn ACL.

Thanks for the pics, Dallas. I heard they had over 40K there yesterday, is that right?

There were very few "extra" people on the sideline, surprisingly. So very cool that Kennedy was allowed on the field.

Karma to Peyton.

Heal quick, but take care of yourself and do it the right way.

He is clearly a leader, loves to win, and the coaches were consulting with him on the sideline...

So let's summarize...Peyton is a leader and a winner. I like what I am seeing with this class.

Thanks for the pics Dallas! rep.

Given the amount of time it take to rehab a torn ACL, I wonder if Peyton will become a grayshirt candidate. ALC recovery can take 9 month to a year, meaning it is a very good chance he won't be ready for fall camp.

I watched the game, nice crowd for sure. I see that they still have the team bleaching their hair tradition. Sucks that Peyton was hurt, it was cool to see how excited he was tho. They mentioned him being a CU commit at least 3 times that I heard. I hear he's got really good work ethic so he should come out of this just fine.

How long it takes to get a knee healthy can vary a lot.

This year they have a lot of room in the class but the following year is already going to be a small class. If they were to grayshirt him I would expect them to still count him against this class.

Yeah, they still do the bleached hair ritual during play-offs, makes it easy to spot them around town.... Peyton is really well regarded here in Southlake, talking with some our my neighborhood kids, he's definately a leader in the making and dedication is prettynamazing. Just the type we need in a Buff uniform.

Yeah Im excited to have him. Acl is serious but it's dealt with alot better these days. With his work ethic and being in good shape already, he'll make it through it. Think he's gonna be a good one for us.

Hope he recovers quickly. Does grayshirt mean 2012 or 2013 scholly?

We could count it toward either class. Coach's choice.

If I was Peyton, if I knew I'd miss the year while rehabbing, I'd ask to grayshirt. That way, if I got hurt later in my career I'd still have a redshirt year available.

Also gives him a full year off to recover then lets him spend the spring rehabing with the university staff.

Probably all depends on what the prognosis is for recovery time.

Depnding on the severity of the tear, minimum 6 months. If it were me, I would want a full year to rehab and get the strength back. Especially for a explosive, speedy player like Peyton.

All the best to Peyton. Hope the surgery goes well. Can't wait for him and the rest of the DFDubs to get here!

6 months is a minimum from what i've been told, so just hope he doesn't push it too much too early. He's got 7 months until fall camp. I've said it here before, but i really think he will emerge as a leader during his time as a Buff.

Agreed. I hope he doesn't hurt himself again by being so aggressive with the rehab. Still, I like the "chip on the shoulder, prove 'em wrong" attitude of this young man.
