Benson now officially on record

Another quote from the article:

A FEW games?????? Since '06, among the AWFUL losses:

Montana St
CSU
Sac St
Fresno
Mizzou
Oregon
ASU
Kansas

And on and on and on....

But I guess that just makes me a naysayer.

----------> ME
Since 2010, CU has lost by an average of 21-36 (rounded 36 to the nearest whole number). Since 2006, we have been outscored 1466-2312, or an average score of 19-30.

And yes that includes wins....I don't really want to think about what it would be if I only included loses.

I particularly liked the quote about not interfering in Bohn's ability to do his job...past history suggests otherwise.

BRUCE! The only coaches they've had are Pop Warner and High School coaches! Of course "these are the best!"

OK, if you can see the red line, that means the safety is off, right? Just wondering. Not a big deal, really.

Relax. He's not running the program. It was a politicians answer. If they shoot the staff at the end of the year he can say it isn't his call and that he liked embree. It isn't the answer of a strong leader but it is not a surprising answer. It means nothing.

If Benson was such a ****ing great businessman in his private life, he's got to have some tiny clue that being the laughingstock of CFB is not good for the University's business.

wrong... benson shouldnt have a ****ing word to say about it... he speaks for the whole system... distephano should be the only official who should be allowed to speak on the issue because he represents the campus

actually, every one of these ****ers should be fired immediately, starting with Benson.

Problem is, their job is 80% academics, or less. And, that is as it should be for a university.

back to the RMAC for us. Man, these idots should be drawn and quartered for destroying a once proud program. Now we are the Northwestern before Barnett of the PAC12, the Vandy of the PAC12, only those schools are stiller better academically than ours and even they care more about football than these morons.

Enjoy BBall while we have Boyle ladies and gents.

Of course, Public Votes Of Confidence are a lot like the guillotine's handler assuring a fellow on his knees, "Don't worry - everything will be fine."

Kiss of Death.

I keep wondering when some 'journalist' won't ask this exact follow-up question! Du-uh... dope-tee-dope...

Maybe this is the infamous "reading between the lines" issue!

And the Duke of the PAC XII

Why is Benson commenting on the state of the football program anyway?

I actually take this as a positive. If the President is already making comments about it, it means that the noise from the fanbase is loud and clear. If this season continues on its current course, it is only going to get louder, and I think the media will start chirping about it more and more as well. Bruce can't hide from this, and the heat will only get worse, even for him.

Benson should shut his pie hole and get the **** out of the way on things he doesn't know a damn thing about.

The proper answer: "I trust Mike Bohn to make all decisions regarding the head coaches for our CU athletic programs."

+1. I don't ever want to hear anything else out of his mouth about CU athletics other than "The University is writing the athletic department a big check to assist in getting out of this mess we created."

All Benson should be doing is scmoozing the benefactors and hieing or firing the AD. If he can't be comfortable with the AD making personnel decisions, then he needs a new one.

I think BuffUP had it pegged - the noise is too loud already. And the other comment about his response appeared "well rehearsed" says that, too. Kiss Of Death.

All Benson should be doing is retiring and shutting the **** up.

Why even have an AD when the president and chancellor are determined to undermine him every opportunity they get?

What AD? The last AD we had was Bill Marolt and that has been almost 20 years ago. Since then, we have had no leadership or support from the administration. We see the results now.

Don't get me wrong, I am no Bohn fan, but part of me wonders how many of these decisions he is truly responsible for in light of what we know about the mandated Hawk 5th year.

The administration went out of its way to make sure we're not viewed as a football school to the point that they torpedoed our own program for crying out loud.

I'd point out that historically (did I mention that I was a long-time lurker?) Wyo has been sympathetic to the attention the Administration must pay to the academic (and others) side of the University, while balancing the AD. For him to speak out this strongly is a clear sign that the last lines of defense have fallen (to use an apt expression).
