Why is our team so small compared to the rest of the Pac 12? I guess when recruiting is so poor it's not surprising that our players are substantially slower than the teams we play but it is surprising that they are so much smaller, particularly on defense. We really have a dearth of athletes on the defensive side of the ball, particularly in the front 7. I hope that recruiting full-sized athletes at DL and LB is a priority for the staff, because it needs to be.

Largely because we're playing a bunch of under classmen versus a bunch of grown ass men, but don't play thst card because we didn't look small against the vast majority of the schedule

You are entitled to your view but I watched all of the conference games this year and thought that we were smaller noticeably smaller than the other team in most of the games.

I've been literally five feet away from the action for every home game. UCLA was bigger. So was UW. ASU and OSU looked about the same. The fact that does not change is how young we are compared to everyone else, and that has a direct impact when you are not recruiting blue chips.

How do you explain our upperclassmen at DT? Youth seems like a poor excuse for a run defense giving up 5.8 per carry.
Tupou and Solis are massive human beings. Parker just isn't a DT at this level. On both sides of them we've got a bunch of under classmen and the guys behind them are underclassmen. The guys behind the guys behind them are underclassmen sans Smith and the others are walk ons.

I get it, you don't buy the youth excuse, but if you can seriously sit there and tell me you aren't going to see a much different team when they have the vast majority of their guys who have been in the program and lifting for 4-5 years versus a 18 or 19 year old then I'm not sure what to tell you. If you recruit blue chips the difference is minimized, but that's not where we are.

I don't think the front seven has high ceilings for the most part. Youth is a nice excuse for guys with the right frame, but we are not necessarily recruiting those guys. You just categorically dismissed 04's concerns because you do not like him.

Ok, whatever you say. Most of the young guys have the right frames to put on good weight, but whatever. Gillam, Gilbert, McCartnety, Shaver, Olugbode, Lopez, Thompson, White, Awuzie, etc. all have frames that can hold a good amount more weight.

I'll also point out I don't really care who posted that, it could have been anyone and I would have said the same.

So can I put you down for a dramatic improvement next season? Or will we still be too young?

Still a lot of sophomores contributing.
Whole lot more juniors contributing. The two deep is heavily skewed towards sophomores and freshman this year. Would rather rely on 3rd year starters and 2nd year starters versus 2nd year starters and 1st year starters.

That bone structure tho.

8-4.

Can't believe how pissed people are after a road loss to Oregon regardless of the score. I do get the frustration with the season. For me, it all comes down to next season for Mac.

Right because we all know a drunk fan watching on TV is better than someone who is stone cold sober for observations

I was at the game saturday slingblade. It was obvious and to many others except you. Go figure. The fact that your sober and still come up with these observations is amazing. BTW, I was 5 fat tires in when I posted " you just witnessed cu's last win". My point, drink more during the game, you'll see more clearly.

Of course Oregon is bigger than us, are you seriously trying to tell me I'm saying different?
