'15 TN MLB Jay Hockaday (Verbal to Vanderbilt)

He'll feel out that frame and be a 230-235 guy. He moves really well. Glad to have him in Black and Gold.

Congrats Jay! You will love Boulder. Make it happen on the field :congrats::congrats:

Granted, the Hudl film is just highlights, but from what I can tell, he is a similar athlete to Gillam. Moves sideline to sideline pretty well, tackles with authority, knows/does HIS job and is always around the football making plays. And the kid has a little "prick" in him. Watch him on the KO return and you can see him go head hunting and completely de-cleats a kid. Welcome!

If the bolded is even a little true, it will be a welcome addition to the LB corp. We need guys that are looking to hit, and hit hard. So tired of our D looking like they are afraid to get run over. Our defense has been too nice for too long. Need some nasty on that side of the ball.

I'm not a LB talent evaluator, but I thought his film looked good. Faster than he looks (tall + long strides), sheds blockers, finds the right gaps, and wraps up well on tackles. The "block" he made on the kickoff was nasty.

Kinda surprised he doesn't have more reported offers.

we just need some defenders that want to hit people! ....instead of standing around watching

Welcome to the Black and Gold! I like his film. He has solid footwork, looks to have good vision, makes good reads, and thus fills the correct holes. I like that he runs the spread option on offense too, seems like he would be a great fit in our defense. I like the size in the middle. Hope Vandy doesn't offer!
