What to expect from Davis Webb (NOTHING - Cal Bound)

A-I have not @ Webb.
B-There are far worse things said on this message board. I haven't dogged him. I haven't **** on him. I have simply joked at his imminent departure to Cal with a photoshopped header and been truthful, this team is 2-3 games better with Webb.

"For some reason" maybe I am more entertaining than yourself. But as said on profile many of those followers are bots I can't rid myself of. It's kind of like this endless sunshine pumping. Webb has seen this thread and many others where people have said far worse things. I haven't **** talked him like others have here and Twitter.

I don't try to influence recruits or talk **** to them like I have seen others do. But yes I have taken down tweets because people didn't like a joke like a changes fake freaking header where I put Cal Memorial in the background and changes his commitment. I guess I should have called him other names and wished ill on the kid.

BTW I am posting this after a 3 month old diaper change and feed and a surprise diahrea attack so apologies if this post is deemed ****ty by the #AllbuffsElite.
I'm sorry you have diarrhoea. You should change your diaper more often than every three months. Maybe that's why you have a Twitter problem?

I don't blame Dykes nor Webb here. If there is some unwritten rule with coaches regarding this, then Dykes deserve all the hate thrown his way.

I just wonder how often this has happened in the past?

Not often if ever. NFL hopefuls start on their teams as seniors and don't need to transfer.

Russell Wilson. NC State named Mike Glennon its starter so Wilson transferred to Wisconsin.

Jake Coker couldn't start at Florida State, transferred to Alabama, won a national title as a starter, and is now in the NFL.

:lock: (y)
The voices in my head tell me he was accepted to Cal today but that he is still signing with the Buffs.
I like the voices in my head.

Stating the obvious, Webb is using CU as his back-up plan in case Cal does not accept him. Does HCMM ante up for a player who is not fully invested?

There is little doubt Webb is an improvement over Sefo, he has had three years to prove that he is a turnover machine. However, does a "6 month" player who is not fully IN at CU give HCMM 3 more wins and job security vs Sefo's INT's and lack of reading thru progressions properly?

If he comes here, he'll be fully invested. No way he is going to half-ass it just because we were his second choice. It's his last chance.

The QB who gives the team the best chance of winning in 2016 plays. Pretty simple, I think.

We know it's not Sefo...could be Montez...prob will have to be Webb.
I don't think we know that is true about Sefo. There are still legitimate arguments to be made that he could improve significantly this year if the rest of the team makes the leap too. But, if you're listing those three in terms of best chance for winning this season (with what we know right now), I'd rank like this:
Webb
Sefo
Montez

Moronic question (my forte) but doesn't it seem a tad late for a prospective student to still be waiting a decision on acceptance to a masters program that would, in theory, commence in two weeks?

My gut tells me that at least some in the program may resent Webb if he strolls in thinking he is going to take the job from Sefo and/or Montez after stringing CU along like he is. I'm not so sure, at this point, how it would effect team chemistry.

I understand your point, but I would imagine they're all tired of losing (and being the laughing-stock of the PAC). I'd venture to guess winning may cure all.

Is team chemistry important to preserve for a team that is 2-25 in conference play? Or said another way, could it be worse?

The some that might resent it are also the guys that resent freshmen and sophomores taking their spots. Bottom line is CU has won 3 games a year for a decade. CU needs better players at just about every position. Who cares about team chemistry when you win 3 games a season?

Team chemistry is just fine as long as the best players who put in the work win the jobs.

Probably doesn't commence until fall?

I'm no NCAA guru but I think you have to be enrolled a minimum of 12 credit hours just to practice with the team. Seems to me that means he's enrolled this summer.

Point is probably moot. Maybe he's still deciding (and that's just fine) but I think the argument that he's awaiting a decision from the grad program at Cal is a fallacy.

We said the same stuff last year about Sefo and then he came out against Hawaii and looked like the kid from his frosh year. Agree on ranking.

Nope. He has to be enrolled in the fall not summer.

I spent nearly 20 years working in higher education. The short answer to your original question is that yes, it is late to be waiting on acceptance to a graduate program, whether we are talking summer or fall. The Cal Admissions deadlines are all long since gone for fall admission http://grad.berkeley.edu/programs/list/. That being said, whether we are talking about undergraduate or graduate programs late admissions for athletes would happen on a regular basis. So there is a possibility that a decision is still pending. With four days left till the supposed decision day, it is likely that Cal knows what it is going to do regarding admissions and has informed Mr. Webb. Now it is just a matter of actually announcing that final decision.

What I deduce from this is that Mr. Webb likely was admitted to Cal (If he was rejected he would change his twitter status right away) and that he isn't 100% sold on where he stands with Cal, otherwise he would just say he had changed his mind...but he isn't 100% certain about the Buffs either. If he is uncertain about what is best with him, it is likely that he will honor his original commitment. Thus with each passing day it becomes more likely that he will have been admitted to Cal but comes to Colorado.

I agree with you. It's a huge concern and I don't think it's likely to happen. However, with the odds of Webb coming looking fairly low, it's about all we can hope for at this point. :(
