hard to say which would be better for the Buffs. I could actually drive out for the Indy Bowl, and I probably would. But bowl trips are supposed to be a reward, and I think for the players, Tempe is a better trip than Shrevport. Unless the team prefers low stakes gambling over hot Phoenix girls.

I know the 1/1/93 fiesta bowl was a blast and the 1/1/95 trip was fun as an alum. I won't get to go to Phx, but more Buffs could probably make that trip than the indy. either way I am glad the buffs are bowling...Houston bowl would be a 3rd choice for me in any scenario.

I would prefer anything other then Insight, only because we had plans on New Years Eve, I have already cancelled on my wife who was really looking forward to our night but she understood, I am hoping for Texas and kicking the crap out of a Conference USA team and getting that boost in recruiting.

I was planning on the Insight bowl to be my new years eve plans, I don't like driving on amature night on the roads of Orlando...so I'd have a bowl game party here...keep the drinking at home, where it belongs.:drink2::dance:

I heard Insight bowl will be on NFL network. If so that will suck because Comcast is being greedy and moved it to a sports tier that costs extra per month. I'm not giving comcrap anymore money. So if its on NFL network I will need to crash one of you guys watching party so I can see it too!

I blame the NFL Network a lot more than I'd blame Comcast. They're demanding to get treated like the most wanted network in the history of television when in actuality they're sandwiching 4 months of so-so programming with 8 months of unrelenting unwatchable crap.

I fail to see anything in that article that makes Comcast look like the bad guy in this situation. The fact of the matter is that the NFL is demanding a premium year round rate from cable companies when they only have worthwhile programming on the air for 24 hours (8 three hour games) every year.

Aside from that, Comcast and the other cable companies have every right and reason to play hardball with the NFL after their continued asinine policies towards the Sunday Ticket package. Go cable, kick some NFL ass!

Insight Bowl would be a 3:30 p.m. kickoff MST on the NFL Network and IMHO
that sucks-

the Independence Bowl would be a 6 p.m. kickoff on a Sunday night on ESPN-
much better exposure for CU-

since I won't be going to either game I want CU to play an SEC team
in Shreveport-

Texas Bowl isn't a part of the equation IMHO- if it becomes one then the NFL Network is televising the game-

I agree. **** the NFL. Every other major sport has a cable package you can buy to see out of market games. It pisses me off that they continue to give exclusive rights to DTV to carry Sunday Ticket.

Seriously, Shreveport over Tempe? Are you people high? Neither bowl is going to garner the Buffs much more national attention. A bowl game in Shreveport in December is no picnic AFA played in Shreveport twice in the early 80s and the weather was complete crap. (I was young but I was very thankful we were invited to sit in a box for that game. Freezing rain. Yuck). Tempe has great weather, lots of golf, great restaurants, etc.

I'll take Shreveport just because I can drive to the game. I'm selfish what can I say.

It snowed there a few years ago when aggy played there.

This kind of drives the point home even more. As a selection committee, the teams that CU is "competing" with are OSU and aTm. Seems like there are a lot more OSU/aTm fans in the vicinity of Shreveport than Buff fans. CU would be lucky to send 5K to Shreveport where there will probably be 10K at a Game in Tempe. (I only wish this was last year when I was in Scottsdale for New Years, nice timing huh?)

OK, I have never been to Shreveport so I'll take your word for it. I also just looked at a map and the game might as well be in TexASS. Yeah I admit it, I didn't know exactly WHERE in LA Shreveport was :smile2:. Now if it was a bit closer to New Orleans, different story
