UCF going all in on national champions claim, planning parade to celebrate

I support this. when they were winning in November losing teams were bumping them in the playoff rankings. Bastards.

Good for them! I'm can't think of a team with a stronger claim: 'Bama, Georgia each have losses and JMU played a much weaker schedule.

Plus they beat the one team that's dealt the national champion their only loss.
True. I started to post that as well.

However,
1. Transitivity law doesn't apply to football.
2. That bowl game meant everything to UCF and meant virtually nothing to Auburn. I don't believe for a moment those schools prepared the same for that game.

Good for them. We will always see this argument until they make it a 6 or 8 team playoff.

Ahem, with all due respect, what was their regular season win that puts them in the conversation of being a CFP team? Austin Peay? Memphis? Give me a break. The American Athletic Supporter Conference really isn't on par with the P5.

No this is great! It will lead to a Florida congressman threatening an inquiry and just like that, the CFP will be expanded to 8 teams with one spot guaranteed for the top G5 team.

Perfect!

Screw this. This just encourages more "participation" award attitudes. If you didn't win the trophy just act like you did and tell everyone you did, cuz we're all winners, right? This will look even dumber (possible?) when they go 7-5 in their trash conference next year.

CU claimed a MNC in 1990, hung a banner proclaiming themselves "national champions", made rings, t-shirts, the whole works. And then went 8-3-1 the following year (slightly better than 7-5). That didn't look dumb (at least not to me), not sure why UCF doing the same would be perceived differently.

Did ucf end up #1 in any poll?

Only in a America can we have such a fractured haves and havenots bull**** system for college football.

That's all fine and dandy when you have the opportunity to play for the trophy. They are telling the monopoly to **** off, I have no issues with it.
