Uniform Prediction Thread - 2018 Game 1 - CSU (Away)

They are currently practicing in the gold and black helmets. If history is an indicator, those will not be the helmets they use for the game.

I am a traditionalist, but Stormtrooper for RMS, and GBB for Nebraska would start my season off right. I love the GWB traditional road for Nebraska, but since the Huskers wear white pants, it would look pretty tough to wear Black jerseys to help everyone see us kicking their asses clearly, but it is 9/8 at 2:30pm, so it could be hot. Just please do not wear anything Gray for the Husker game because that is a complete smack to the history of this program against the hated red.

nebraska would have to approve us wearing our dark jerseys. I highly doubt they let us come into their house wearing GBB.

be funny if CSU wore these:

For what it's worth, I think these jerseys are freaking amazing.
they get an A+ for this. I do'nt care that it's CSU, these rock.

I was at that game.

They looked way worse in person than they did in the pictures. I don't know how they ****ed up a good idea like that, but they looked like generic jerseys that a semi-pro team would wear.

The other thing they did was try to have a "blue out" instead of a white out. Luckily, only a few people outside of the student section did it, because they were playing Boise. Who wore blue.

The whole thing was a good idea in theory that CSU ****ed up in ways that only CSU can.

I think you're the one smacking the history of this program ... our most successful run in the history of the series against Nebraska came when we won five of six from 1956-1961 while wearing silver/gray helmets and often silver/gray pants. Personally, I love the reintroduction of the silver a couple of years ago because it is a recognition of the history of this program--hardly a smack.

How is it that no one already had Frosty Cox for a username? Well done. (y)

Thank you for the history lesson, I apologize for not knowing the entire series by heart. I am 46 years old and grew up with the great teams of the 80's, 90's, and 2000's so unfortunately that is my Traditional Period. I think that our uniforms during that time established my love for the program and the look of the mighty Buffaloes. I am humbled by your comment, but am not feeling the Gray outfits, and I am pretty sure that nobody in Lincoln would understand it if we came out in Gray!!!

Fair enough. I just think it's important to recognize the entire history of the program because there are a lot of highlights pre-McCartney. Myself, I'm only 30 only years old and established my love for the program with the same look as you, but the reality is as more and more time passes, the more the McCartney era will start to feel just as ancient as the eras that preceded it so those shouldn't be outright dismissed. Obviously the 89-96 run (wearing primarily GBG or GWB) is the highlight but the Buffaloes have been mighty in more than just one look through the years!

Specific to Lincoln, obviously our biggest win there came wearing GWB (your username says it all) but the two other most significant wins in Lincoln came wearing SWS (1961) and GWG (1967). Making some assumptions, I believe the Buffs are just 1-7 wearing GWB in Lincoln, 2-2 wearing GWW, 1-11 wearing GWG and 4-3 wearing silver helmets!
