Could have called it 10/9- 10/13 but that wouldn't be a weekend and like most I am ignoring Tuesday nights epic conflict between Appalachian State and Arkansas State.

Last week we had our share of upsets. Will this week follow. Plenty of opportunities are part of what makes college football fun.

Thursday gives us what should be a fun game with two teams that can score. Texas Tech goes to TCU, both teams at 3-2 and both can score.

Friday night gives us Arizona at Utah, both teams trying to stay in the south race.

Our top 25 battles for the week

PAC12 gets their share of the spotlight. (7) Washington goes to (17) Neon University to play the Ducks. Oregon hopes they are back, UDub wants to show them that despite day glow jerseys and socks they aren’t.

A lot of people have been doubting (2) Georgia, they get a chance to prove they are for real this week going to death valley to play (13) LSU who keeps surprising people this season.

In the B1G a lot of people have said that (15) Wisconsin is overrated. They go to a (12) Michigan that has had trouble recently with ranked teams. Somebody is going to come out disappointed

In the PAC a number of teams have their bye week. Other than CU-USC and the games mentioned earlier the only other game on the schedule has Cal getting close to a bye with UCLA coming in likely to add to their winless streak this year. Will UCLA win a game this year?

Normally we hope for a Texas loss but this week we get a suddenly back in the rankings (9) Longhorns team with a chance lay a well-deserved beating on a Baylor team that is 4-2 but not that good.

In the Covering for Immoral Acts bowl we have 3-2 Michigan State visiting (8) Penn State. Which fan base is better at ignoring the abuse of children as long as their team wins?

No such moral dilemma on the next game. The Nebraska futility express rolls into Northwestern this week. The Wildcats are only 2-3 but that is two wins better than Nebraska (Yes Nebraska fans you count one finger, two fingers) Everybody gets healthy and happy against the Big Red Stain this year.

Nebraska loses this one they will have to add more operators to the suicide prevention hotlines. They have already seen a dramatic increase in attempts as the husker futility continues but fortunately jumping out a window isn’t highly effective since most trailers are only one story and close to the ground.

Locally we have a big game on Friday night.

AFA seems to have found themselves a QB and an offense in beating service academy rival Navy last week 35-7. They will need it against a good 4-1 San Diego State Team on the road but Air Force has gotten on rolls in the past.

2-4 CSU host 3-2 New Mexico. Lobos aren’t great but they should be a lot better than the winless San Jose State team that almost beat CSU last week. Plenty (and we mean lots) of good seats available for this one as the CSU fans have given up on the season again.

Struggling (2-4) Wyoming goes to (4-1) Fresno State

FCS level winless (0-6) Northern Colorado goes to (2-4) Portland State

In the small schools CSU Pueblo continues to trail Colorado Mines by a game for the conference lead

Mines travels to Fort Lewis as Pueblo goes to Mesa

So how many of you are watching Appy State - Arkansas State. Two teams we don't know or care much about but it is football.

PAC12 mountain has the 60 min replay of the Buffs-ASU game as well.

I have no idea how App St. has scored a point all season. Runs into the middle of the line and unimaginative throws.

How did this team score 45, 52, 72... and 38 AT Penn St? They look overwhelmed by Arkansas St.

Oh my god, App State RB just scored a touchdown by reaching across the goalline. Leg got rolled up on and you can see the lower leg snap in half and just dangle in the air with his foot pointing in an odd direction.

Really interested to see WVU head to Ames this weekend.

Interesting call. Iowa State beat a decent Oklahoma State team on the road last week while West Virginia had a harder time at home against Kansas than would be expected.

Iowa State has three losses but they are to Iowa, Oklahoma, and TCU and all were competitive.

Stating the obvious, their coach is top shelf. And they’re paying him to stay.

Could be a good day of viewing depending on how the last one of the day goes (Times MT):

  • 10:00-10:30 starts:
    • 12 Florida @ Vandy on ESPN- If the Vandy that hung tough in South Bend shows up, it could open up a slot in the top 15.
    • nubs @ NW on ABC: because **** nebraska, that's why
  • 1:00-1:30 start time
    • 2 UGA @ 13 LSU on CBS- the right result could open up a spot in the top 15. Go Dawgs
    • 7 UW @ 17 Oregon on ABC/ESPN2- Either way probably opens up a slot above the Buffs- probably want UW to win to increase hype for next week
    • 10 UCF @ Memphis on ABC/ESPN2- not much hope here, but weirder things have happened in conference games. UCF Will plummet in the rankings if they lose
  • 5:00-5:30 start time
    • #6 WVU @ ISU on FS1- ISU is usually good for one major upset per year; would an upset of WVU position the Buffs to move up with a win?
    • #`17 Miami @ Virginia on ESPN2- Virginia is very, very not good but I'm not sold on Miami. Probably not worth watching in the hopes that Miami drops one, BUT if it's close late might merit tuning in
    • #15 Wiscy @ 12 UM on ABC- either way will likely open up a slot above the Buffs; could be a good game
  • 8:30 start
    • 19 Colorado @ unranked USC on FS1- the main course- **** all the other games in this time slot.

Iowa State can run against that stack 3-3.

Great lineup this weekend. From Friday night until nearly midnight Saturday, my schedule is set aside for football and beer.

The better UW looks, the more is on the line when we get them. Hopefully they thump the Duck.

And I hardly get to watch any of it! East coast, coaching 0800 football game (precludes watching 2200 UofA/UU game), funeral at 1100, reception, and etc. I will get to watch the CU game. But ****in’ A I’ll be tired.

TTU/TCU is a good game tonight.

I’m so geeked up for Saturday that I need a fix tonight to keep me steady.
Now I'm getting a little worried for what'll happen in the Buffnik household if the Buffs pull off a win in SoCal. Hope Nikki's got a rubber room she can put you in while you get it all out of your system.

With WiFi, of course. We're not animals.

Add a trough and a whisky bar and that sounds allsome!

Since I can’t remember from just 2 years ago, can anyone remind me if Shawn Robinson had any interest in coming to CU with KD and Viska? Could have redshirted him and would have been a nice DeSoto trio playing next year possibly

My head hurts

Huge break for TTU as a PF for hitting the QB in the head negates an INT.

Ok, I know he was one of the top QB’s in the country and his offer list, I’m more questioning if he had any interest, I never said I expected him here? Didn’t expect you to answer considering you probably can’t follow recruiting, much less watch a movie in over 10 years.

I do not think there was much mutual interest.
