Official Coaching Search Thread

Love the first two, but I've got concerns with the third. One, what's his staff look like? Two, his track record would show he'd probably bounce if a better job came open.

And that's no concern for Holgorsen, who is a HC at a P5 school right now?

Fisch has about as versatile a CV you can probably think of for a guy his age. The fact he's worked with so many different coaches in so many different roles at so many different places is very appealing to me as he's seen a lot of things. Plus McVay is like the hottest thing going in the NFL right now and he wouldn't have him on his staff if he didn't like him.

Bitch that Mac isn't fired yet, bitch the team hasn't named an interim head coach after Mac is fired, bitch RG is using help from a search firm. Bitch about the "rumored" candidates. You people are insufferable.
it is somewhat entertaining

Pagano was a much more accomplished NFL guy than Nick Saban.... so there's that.

Like Charlie Strong or the Syracuse guy too.

Nick Saban did pretty well at Michigan State and LSU before he left for the cup of coffee with the Dolphins. Apples and Oranges. Pagano hasn't been in the college game in 11 years.....and Yahoo said RG wants a bigger personality-he's definitely not that. Question for the mods-are we done with the individual candidate threads and keeping all search discussion here?

Sub-forum was created for all those threads. Look at the top of the page for "Coaching Bazaar". There still is a college football season going on and we don't want threads on topic to get lost in the CU Football forum.

I’m starting to come around to the idea of Chip Long. Young, energetic, connected and is a solid recruiter. He’s been around long enough to be able to assemble a good staff (I think) and he knows how an elite program is run.

I like the concept/idea of us needing an identity and style of play. We have not had that in many years!

Hadn't seen this anywhere yet. Same general pool, but nonetheless a different perspective

I thought this was pretty objective and good. I completely agree regarding identity. I think we may already have the base talent but need a consistent identity which is why Leach is so good. Also, can we get rid of the vegan (only partially kidding) hippy nutritionists who cannot seem to put weight on anyone. Our OL are young and a good deal of what ails us up front could be solved by a decent mass-building nutrition and conditioning program. These guys can worry about carrying around too much "football" weight after their done playing football just like the the rest of us.

We should hire whoever Wisconsin’s O-Line coach is, then we’ll hire Iowa’s O-Line coach as OC. We’ll only recruit linemen, put them on strict corn heavy diets, and will roll out our “Stampede” formation of 1 QB, 1 RB, and 9 OL. We’re going to out-Stanford Stanford

I've been saying this for years. This is the formula for success at CU.
