I'll be honest, he just crossed my mind and I had to google him to see if he was still coaching somewhere, and was surprised to find him at Auburn.

The only guy who really matters for Auburn on defense is Kevin Steele.

What do we know about Roper?

No issue with him keeping the co-OC title as long as someone else comes in and constructs the offense and calls the plays.
What OC worth a damn is going to want to come here and share the 'co-OC-Chev-hand-holder' title?

And if Chev is calling plays.....I’m off the HCMT train

I have a hard time seeing Tucker keeping Chev on in the role he had last year-with Chev tweeting he's staying and the news Roper is leaving coming out as well, I'd think CMT has offer out to somebody as an OC/QB coach-and I'd think the fact that Tyler Lytle now follows James Coley on twitter is not a coincidence.

Good! I didn’t want to get off the train. Thanks

One who is given full control of the offense. They won't care what meaningless title Chev has and they will not be expected to hold his hand.

Co-OC titles can be given to just about anyone.
“Co” coordinators are more and more common. At least it seems that way.

Co-OC titles don't matter. Chev had one the first two years he was here, and Brian Lindgren ran that offense. You put Chev back in the role he had in 2016-2017 he's very effective.

If the Co-OC title doesn't matter, then don't give it to him. WR/RC and be done.

Does Chev staying hurt our chances to get Tee Martin aboard?
I hope not. Recruiters like Tee Martin aren’t available very often.

Buffzone story with HCMT quotes:

Eliot, former CU Buffs head coach MacIntyre land new jobs

"There is obviously a sense of urgency, but I'm not going to make any rash or knee-jerk decisions on guys," Tucker told Buffzone.com. "I'm going to be meticulous and do my homework and make sure we have a great staff. I owe it to our players and the university to make sure we get the right fit in here. I've always believed it's not just collecting players and collecting coaches; it's building a team.

"When you build a staff, that staff has to be a team. When you have a staff that works well together and is cohesive and everyone is on the same page, that translates to the players and they see that. The players are going to be a reflection of your staff."

Tucker said he has met with each of CU's full-time assistants to get to know them.

"My experience has shown me it's not always bad (going into a new situation), so I think it's wise to evaluate the coaches that are here and then make a decision," he said.

Tucker said he's also received a lot of outside interest from coaches wanting to join him in Boulder.

"This is a very attractive opportunity for coaches," he said. "My phone rings or I get a text probably every 30 seconds. Everyone sees the opportunity here and what this place can be and what we can do, and I think everybody knows what I'm all about. I feel confident that we'll put a great staff together that will put the players first."

Hopefully he'll name coordinators Monday so he can get their input and finalize most of the staff by Wednesday or Thursday.

Coach Tuck’s only following two CU assistants right now—Chev and Hagan. Looks like they’ll both be staying on in some capacity.
